Hi there!
I suffer from chronic eczema (hands the worse cracked badly, extremely dry and sore to move) and dry flaky skin all over, hayfever year round and asthma.
It is making me really down and I desperately need some help. I take probiotics, herbal tonic and vitamin c every day along with a very health concious diet.
My daughter aged 2 is starting to show signs of eczema on a mild scale now as well.
Please help!
Jennifer

I've heard cutting out dairy can help with eczema and is ment to help with sinus problems so it might help the hayfever too?
I have been trying forever to get DH to give up dairy (he has terrible eczema) but he's too stubborn!

Cutting out both dairy & soy helps my eczema, I recommend you go to a naturopath. Mine helped me immensely with helping get a good handle on my eczema and asthma.

My sister had this and it was terrible for her. she went to drs, natropaths, alsorts etc and paid alot of money and got alot of different advice.
In the end, she did a course of about 3 months of anti histamines along side cutting some things out of her diet like alcohol, tomatoes, strawberries, chocolate etc. This cleared it enough to get her back on a managable track. She can now have those foods, but in small amounts. She can also keep most of the eczema at bay with moisturising regularly so to avoid the steoroid creams. She also makes her own soap and is careful with the washing powder she uses.
I hope you find a solution soon...it is such a aweful thing to have to go through (my sis was often in tears just feeling ugly and itchy).
I suffer from asthma and hayfever and very small amounts of eczema on occasion. Have you been tested to what you are actually allergic to? I did the aweful prick test...but at least I could see what exactly was setting me off and avoid it if poss. I think you can get blood tests now to find out if different foods effect you.
All the bext xo

northshore mum, I would check out http://www.drrodneyford.com/ - Dr Rodney Ford he is based in Chch. And is really up there in terms of allergys and eczema info. I would have a browse through and see what tests etc can be done, and perhaps see if you can get a skin prick test done through your dr.

This is interesting because my husband has suffered from bad eczema all his life. He has had a skin prick test but nothing came up. Could he still benefit from trying different diets eg dairy free, to see if it helps?
