Hi all,

I came of the BCP in February this year and waited 4 months before my first AF. My next AF was due around the 20th July but nothing as yet. I was just wondering if anyone else had irregular AF's after coming off the BCP and how long it took them to become regular again. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Didn't want to read and run :) I'd have no idea as I've never been on the pill or anything. But I think the time varies from person to person in regards to getting AF back to normal. All the best for the TTC journey :).

Hi ooEvaoo, thanks for your post :) I guess it will just be a waiting game.

I did - and they just got more irregular. It turned out I have polycystic ovary syndrome and wasn't ovulating at all. On the other hand, I believe slightly irregular periods straight after coming off the pill are common enough... perhaps just keep an eye on it and make a Drs appointment if it doesn't come right in a couple of months (or earlier if you suspect something's not quite right)?

Hi Hopes, thanks for your post. I have a doctors appointment today just for a checkup so will ask him about any tests or anything I might need to have just to make sure everything is working like it should be (which is obviously isn't at the moment). Congrats on your pregnancy :) I don't know much about PCOS so might go and do a bit of research.

Great idea! They can do some pretty standard blood tests to check everything's on track

How did your Drs appointment go? Did they arrange some bloods?

Hi Hopes, yep, I am having blood drawn over the next four weeks to make sure that everything is okay. Still no AF yet but my body must be doing something as I have had cramps, sore nipples, skin breakout (so not impressed about that one). Hopefully they are good signs that my body is trying to return to normal. FX.
