Ok girls, I am heading into the time to test for my first ever time, and I was wondering if people could share which ones they found successful.

What have people though about Discover Onestep? It says it is extremely sensitive and can be used from 4 days before you expect AF - anyone used this and had success?

And - a third question - when is a line not a line? You know how people say sometimes they got such a faint line that they thought they were imagining it - does that go on to become a BFP later on? (Want to make sure I am realistic rather than set myslef up for failure!)

Thanks everyone in advance for sharing your wisdom!

I think if there is a line on the test, however faint, read in the recommended time then it is definitely a positive.

There is a really good website around that Jezsika recommended... http://www.peeonastick.com/ - Pee On A Stick It'll have all (or most) of the answers to your questions/concerns

I used the cheap supermarket test (can't remember the name) for the first test which came out quite faint. I followed it up with a clear blue test which showed a much stronger positive later the same day.

I personally wouldn't test early if you are thinking of it. I was warned against it simply because it can pick up chemical pregnancy which you may normally have not been aware of. I have heard the One step are good though if you really can't resist (and lets face it - the waiting does suck!! )

Good luck!!

I used the quick card ones which are he same the doctor uses. They are cheaper then the clear blue ones and I found the result to be fine. As Nikki says, any line is positive if read within the time frame specified.

My line was so faint I thought I was imagining it, but it was there!

Good Luck!!!

I used the Onestep, AF was 2 days late but I only have a 10 day LP so I was only 12dpo. Got a definite line, no squinting etc.

Used a Clearblue the next day (just to confirm ) and got a similar kind of line even tho it wasn't an early result one.

I got a very faint am-i-imagining-it line with a clear blue I had, then I bought one of those first results early PT that you can test 3 days before you are due, used it the same day, had a stronger line, so of course jumped straight on here to announce it! Good luck!
