I need some ideas about what might be up with DD...
She has been self settling and sleeping 7-7 with one dream feed for almost 3 months now. We did verbal reassurance at 4 months because her sleeping all over the place.
Until today she has been an angel. Has 3 or 4 naps of 45mins during the day, which I am ok with. Today we were up at 6am so it was a 4 nap day. At the 4th nap she would just SCREAM when I lay her in her cot. Checked everything that I could think of to be wrong and ended up going for a drive so she would get a small nap. I thought she just didnt want to go down for nap number 4 as has resisted this before.
But then I got a repeat with bed time tonight. She went down okay but when we thought she was asleep she just started screaming and sobbing. Nothing would settle her, refused boob (actually bit me ) which usually works. Tried the verbal reassurance but she was getting worse and in the end we got her up for a cuddle and within a minute she was laughing and blowing raspberries.
Doesnt anyone have any suggestion what may have caused this?? Pretty sure she isnt teething (has 2 and none are visible in the gums). Nothing else is different/new. I am really hoping that it is just today...
Thanks for reading it just helps to 'tell' someone apart from poor DH who has been awesome dealing with a frazzled mum and baby!!

Hi, no advice but just wanted to say last 2 days N has been crying at bedtime for no apparent reason and crying whenever I go to put him to bed even though he's not hungry etc and trying to fight me from putting him to sleep. Maybe it's a phase they go through around this age? Im really not sure but its not fun aye. I think it's because he wants to play not sleep but who really knows aye

Is it whenever she lies down? Maybe have her ears checked.

I'd suggest changing her routine. She doesn't seem tired enough to go down. Have you tried keeping her a little longer between naps...just a tiny bit not too much so that she can work towards being a little more tired at bedtime. Also try extending the bedtime routine a little. My son is very alert and we had to extend his bedtime routine at night as it took him longer to unwind than what it would suggest in books. Perhaps if you read to her a little more or just sit quietly in her room with some lullaby type music playing. Music calms my son like nothing else. I cannot read to him before bedtime as that charges him up. So we sit quietly listening to music until I can see him go sleepy and then put him down. Sometimes it is quick and sometimes not so quick but it is worth the time spent. Think about it it sometimes takes us longer to relax so do they so give her time. Oh and don'd engage in the playing and rasberries. Be really calm. Also try leaving some soft toys and soft books in her cot and leave a little night light on for her to see. She might play with it all until she falls asleep. Also it could be a phase so give it some time before you get too worried.
