Hey everyone!

Looking to buy the next size up car seat but both of us have very small cars; a VW polo and a suzuki swift so are struggling to find something that will fit! Still need it to be rear facing as she is only 4mths old (but getting too podgy for her wee capsule), and would like one that can go to a decent weight..

Any tips/suggestions? I love the radian but dont think we can manage to cram it in

Thanks in advance

Nar my car isnt small... its a Honda Orthia station wagon. Go to your local baby on the move and ask them to try the Radain XTSL in your car. Sometimes it fits in really small cars really well. It will rear face until 20kg then forward face until 36kg. It is the best you can get (IMO), and totally worth the money. If it fits tweedle have 15% off at the moment.....

I have an Evenflo Symphony 65 in my Nissan Pulsar. It is behind the passenger seat and DH can just fit there and he is 185cm tall, It is level where I have my seat and I am 165cm... It does touch the back of my seat (rear facing) but that is okay.

Evenflo Symphony 65 rear faces to 35lbs and forward faces to a booster to 100lbs so DD will prob outgrow in height before she reaches the weight limit!!

A radian couldnt fit if I ever wanted someone in the front passenger seat and since we only have one carseat and the mission involved in moving it between cars, we use my car when going out as a family...

I've seen photos of a swift with 2 RF radians installed in it, but I'm not sure how far forward the front seats had to go. Not sure on the polo though.

Where are you? Can you borrow one to try?

Inlaws have a teeny car and safe n sound's fit fine in their car without having to put the seats forward

Yeah it doesn't seem to be about the total car size but the height of the backseat that determines whether the longer carseats fit in. The radian fit far better in my tiny honda civic than it does in my ford mondeo station wagon. So definitely go somewhere to try the ones you're interested in in your car before you buy.

I get better space in the front seat with the radian in the middle space or installed upright on the side than I did with the safensound convertible in infant recline. That would be better in a more upright position though, but I hated the stupid tether straps.

I second the Evenflo Symphony 65, great seat, easy to install, super easy to belt up, rear faces to 15kg, then forward faces and then becomes a booster so great value for money.

We have two and they fit both in our big car (4wd) and in my Hyundai Accent.

The downfall of the evenflo is that the height of the straps is the same as the safe n sound models, unless you raise the head part, which then makes it as long as a radian. So to get the full use of it, you still need plenty of space in your car. So as everyone else has suggested I would try a few different seats in your car and see what fits and suits you and baby.

Thanks everyone! Ended up at baby on the move over the weekend and brought an evenflo symphony - S seems so much happier in it and there is more room for the passenger than there was with the capsule!
