I've had a big blow up with SIL and her DF this afternoon about house keys (we all live together), and it's her birthday on Monday. I said earlier I would make her a cake for her birthday so she could take it into work, I went out especially today and brought the stuff that was needed to make it. Since then we had the fight and are no longer speaking and I don't see us resolving it in the next couple of days. I really just want to throw all the stuff in her face instead!!!
So my silly question is, would you bother still making the cake or not?
Sorry if my grammar/spelling is incorrect I just can't think properly at the moment!

I would. Better to take the higher ground! you'll come out looking better than being resentful and mean regardless of how you feel.

Do you want to resolve things? If so, I would make the cake otherwise it may escalate into something even bigger (and you get the satisfaction of taking the mature, higher ground)

an argument about house keys sounds rather silly and a bit immature and not following through with your promise would just make it even worse.

I would make it, but depending on what my original plan was, i may not put the extra effort in. E.g extra special decorating that takes great time

I would make it too.
Or if you wanted you could make it, make sure she sees it and eat it too but that's a bit mean.

well if you think she will see it as a peace offering go for it, but if you think she will just leave you with a face covered in cake then no
Sometimes you just have to suck it up

I'd totally make it, you'll either make up over it or you'll look like an adult and she'll look pathetic if she keeps up the fight after you go to the effort.

Haha thanks ladies!! I had thought after posting this that I would be the mature one and make it, she can act like a 2 yr old if she wants to lol.
Yup Bizzy it is rather silly and immature, and all my fault apparantly

i would definitely make the cake - then if she continues to be childish then she will just look like an idiot - and you will be the sensible mature one

Make it. Its a nice thing to do and TBH a fairly minor argument isn't really enough reason to spoil her birthday.

Well SIL was actually pleasant when I saw her this morning so we appear to be ignoring what happened for now which is fine with me. I still have a problem with her DF which isn't really going to resolve itself but hey I can live with that.
Have spent the afternoon baking the cake with SIL and DS while her DF was out, yay!
