If you were a 2yr old where would you have put

a) a nail file, its a glass one that mum stupidly was letting DD play with as a drum stick on the rubbish bin.

b) the bolts for the car seat I stupidly let her play with it, she was right next to me with them and then I don't know what happened.

Anything that you kids have hidden lately

Did you find them and where?

In the rubbish bin (may be worth a look - 2 year olds change their habits!)

In the toy box

In the bed

Have you also checked where you usually keep your nail file to see if she has returned it??

Always look in the bin first cos that's a real pain.

Could be anywhere!

Ok mine is 15.5 months but I let her play with my cellphone...

What were you doing at the time?

With my cellphone I was packing a suitcase and turns out she'd added it in trying to 'help'

Otherwise common hiding places seem to be next to the tv, in her toy box, book shelf, under the blankets or rugs or under the couch cushions (or couch).

Washing basket? We found our cordless landline in there after a couple of days, underneath wet clothes and towels, of course it doesn't work anymore.

Drawers?
Cupboards?
Toy Box?
Shelves?
Shoes?

I lost a car in the cover that was on our couch. Even though I searched & searched the couch, it wasn't until I took it off & shook it.

Inside DVD player?

I managed to lose my cellphone and DS1 managed to find it (after it had been outside in the rain for 5 days - thankfully Nokias are virtually indestructible and it still works!)

My kids like to put things inside other things too. Boxes, containers, bags, baskets, shoes etc..,

 Mummydee Congrats!!!!

Mine hide things in the bin or back where they normally go like in my bedside drawer.  Ugh out the front windows in the garden. *eye roll*
and things like remote and phones the put of the bench or dinner table then I put books and junk on top of them so its actually my fault.

WHat everyone else said

behind the TV, in the speakers, toy box, bib box, wordrobes, toilet, change table, under the cot, in drawers... the list goes on and on

I look in our two large vases outside, in pot plants, behind the TV cabinet, down the back of the couch cushions, under the coffee table, inside our big pig money box and, yep, in the bin

DD likes to put things in her pockets so that's normally the first place I check. Then the kitchen drawers and cupboards, behind stuff on the bookshelf (things seem to fall down there) and in her dresser drawers. In her handbags and under her bed.

DS has a favourite cupboard he goes to and I often find things in there (it's in the kitchen) or buried deep down in the toy basket or stuffed into his toy train's funnel lol

I always shut the loo because he has been known to stuff various things into them!!

His dummies are the biggest ones though. Forever hunting for them around his room and wonder how the heck they get where they do (he throws them I think!)

I found the bolts!!!

Apparently DD decided they needed to go for a walk and were in her little pram lol

Nailfile is still eluding us however. I might check that its not back in the drawer, I know its not in the plastic thingee it came in saw that on the bench. Will check with mum that she's checked her drawer, she's a little forgetful at times like when she borrowed dvds and I asked if she'd watched them, she'd forgotten she'd borrowed them and asked the boys if they had taken them. They were in her book stack hidden so that the boys didn't take them lol

In our paper recycling box. I found both of her dummies which had been missing for a few days when I tipped it into the wheely bin. Have found them there before as well, strange child
