Hi ladies,

I don't know if all hospitals give out those packs when you leave but for anyone who has received them, do you knwo who makes them up? Is it the hospital itself or plunket?

Also, do they normally have discount vouchers in there or mostly just samples of stuff?

TIA

Usually the packs are there when you get up to your room. I'm not sure if they are still doing them? I think they are bounty?

You also get one around 15mths when you go for your vax.

We got a voucher for a bounty pack to pick up in the kidstore in town, is that what you mean? Or do some hopsitals give out extras?

I got given a bundle of samples and discount vouchers, and a (large) tube of weleda - it was just on the bed. Given that it doesn't seem to be consistant over the country, it must somehow depend what district you're in, no idea what that means as far as who funds it!

The Bounty website says you should get them from the maternity unit or your MW, but have a list of pharmacies on there you can pick it up from if you don't get given it.

ReachME website also sends you free packs for babies and toddlers. I haven't received mine yet so don't know what is in there.

There is a maternity one, a newborn one & then the toddler one.

Bowie, That voucher might be the bounty pack?? .

Not all hospitals allow the bounty packs in them. Middlemore for example dont, something to do with the advertising in them.

The other place is Reach Me. they do packs they send out!

I didn't get anything in the hospital but then the mat ward was too full and I spent the night sharing a delivery suite with another mum and bub!! I used the voucher from my pregnany bounty pack but agree with bumblebee it was pretty average.

The reach me pack was awesome though - a big box of vouchers and samples. But I think you can only get one every 12 months or something like that.

I got a pack from middlemore when I had bella...the nurse gave it to me as I was waiting to go in for my CS. It had nappies and pamphlets and samples in it, and the plunket book.

Chch Womens no longer give out Bounty Packs. 3 years ago I got one, but when I had my DS, 6 months ago, I asked for one and the nurse told me that they no longer give them out as they just became far too much advertising, and very little in the way of samples etc. But you can get a voucher from the Bounty website to pick one up from a pharmacy if you want one.

Some hospitals give out a box or bag or something or other with freebies/vouchers/information. Ours used to give this cool box which had your well child book in it, birth cert forms and loads of information, a swaddling cloth, nappy samples etc, but they have been stopped here. Now I work in PH I know why - it is funding and time. They have to pay someone time to make them up and they are quite time consuming and in this day and age of belt tigtening, haivng some admin girls make up the boxes might mean they are surplus to requirement if they don't have enough of their own work to do to keep them occupied lol
Also there are issues with advertising - most hospitals aren't allowed to be seen to "align" themselves with any particualr brand or don't wish to be seen to endorse one product over antoher and then there are the complications of the wHO code etc and what info you can and can't give out "unsolicited".
ETA this was "in addition" to bounty packs.
