Well it might not just be men but those that go out of the home to work while we stay at home looking after the kids.

I followed up on my thread jack and told my husband when he got home from work about how much I appreciated that he goes to work & slogs his heart out so that I can stay home & raise our kids. I told him that we usually bitch about how under appreciated we are but realised that we never gave them credit for keeping on bringing in that bacon.

I think he was pleasantly surprised.

Yip the main breadwinner doesn't always get much credit but in our family I tend to make sure little things are done for DH to make life a wee bit nicer for him.

I make his lunch every morning, make dinner every night and try to make sure that when he gets home the house is semi tidy. As much as I don't like doing the same things every day he must totally hate having to get up and go to work everyday too!

Im pretty lucky I get to stay home and raise the family and not miss out on the little things DD does like DH has to from being out of the home.

This is so true.

I definitely appreciate what he does, not only earning money to support us, but also being an awesome Dad, but I don't actually say it out loud as often as I should *makes mental note to tell DH tonight*

I found it fasinating when one of my friends who is a SAHM said that it is her DH's turn to look after their one year old in the weekends so that she can have a break. So he has to work at financially supporting the household five days a week and then come home and give her a break from parenting in the weekends? Madness.
I appreciate my DH on a daily basis for providing the lifestyle that we have.
