i work for telecom so i can reccomend a few depending on what you want to use it for ? i have a motorolla flipout and i love it (it the square one with either pink or orange back plate) i havent had any issues with it and find it really easy to use . i dont know if you have had a look already but this is the website http://store.telecom.co.nz/mobile/pay-monthly/phones - http://store.telecom.co.nz/mobile/pay-monthly/phones all the phones with the green men next to them are android and you can click "compare phones" to look at the features and benefits each phone has so you can choose what suits you best .i have also heard good things about the sony ericsson experia and motortolla milestone . any more questions feel free to ask

if DH hadn't got an iphone, he was sold on the Galaxy. He reads lots of reviews and thought it came out on top.
I had a motorola backflip (before DS ot hold of it and threw it in the sink) nd really loved it.
I've now got a Sony Ericsson xperia and its pretty good. A PITA for typing with though. I do prefer the backflip out of the two phones though

Have you looked at getting an iphone on a plan? We ended up only paying $200 for our iphones, and although the plan was a bit expensive, we can downgrade in 6 months. I think they have just shot the prices up again since the white iphones have come out, but it might be worth thinking about.

DH was talking about this the other day and was saying Androids were fine as long as you didn't use them to buy anything, guess that means putting your credit card details on there. Something about not having good security. Sorry, not phone savvy at all (except that I do love my iphone)

I got my Android for xmas from DH & love it. If you can not get an iphone its the next best thing
There are heaps of apps you can get.
DH wants to upgrade mine to an xperia as they are meant to be one of the top brands.
I don't use mine much so will wait till he upgrades his ph with a new one coming out this yr & I will sore his iphone.
I use prepaid as hate contracts & don't use it enough to need one, when I get the iphone I probably will though.

It is secure as anything thing you have on the net...nothing to do with the phone.

I have two friends who have the xperia and they freeze and randomly turn off. Just thought I'd put that out there. Do a google and see if there are any american or uk sites with reviews on them as it may be common but since the phones are only reasonably new here (compared to overseas) it may not be known

I LOVE android. I have just upgraded to the samsung nexus s which runs the latest android 2.3. It's so good. The wifi is super fast and the touchscreen is excellent. I can have angry birds and 16g internal memory. What more could a girl want.
The phones with android 2.2 are great to and can be easily upgraded to the newer 2.3 software.

I have http://store.telecom.co.nz/mobile/prepaid/sony-ericsson-u10a-mini-pro - this I like it. I got it as a replacement when my other sony ericcson just stopped working.
I've not bought any apps or anything. But I do like that I can use my home wi-fi and go online

The comment re the security of the Android was from someone who writes security programs for phones and commented that she would never get an android because of that. But do agree, you just never know.

My husband has the Samsung Ace, he got it free on the Vodafone Get Smart 3 deal (it's usually $599). I love it, and I think he really needs to give it to me!
