We have been given a second hand cot that is a little roughed up and was looking at maybe sanding and staining it. A friend suggested cooking oils as they are baby safe (for any possible chewing on rails) and I had never heard of it before and trusty google doesn't come up with much  . I thought that olive oil could go 'off' on things? I could be very very very wrong though so don't take my word for it (gee how helpful am I lol) I remember buying a chopping board and being told not to put olive oil on it and I thought that was why.
