These spots popped up on DS. The one on the hand Tues night and the one on the face Weds morning. He saw the Doc Weds arvo (due for his jabs) and she said it could be the start of chicken pox and he will get lots more. However he has gotten no more. We saw the training doctor yesterday and she insisted they are flea bites (they are blatently not) and said to take him back Monday if they havent vanished which i will do but wondering if anyone has seen anything like them before!
In the picture the hand one looks like its filled with white stuff - like a pimple ( ) but thats a trick of the light - really its just a slightly red lump.

I'm almost 100% its not a bite of any kind as when they first came up they seemed to be more like a blister (with fluid within) though they are hardening up now.
Whatever it is they don't seem to bother him, he's his usual self.

They look like Mozzie bites to me. Hope he doesn't get anymore.

I was gonna say this too, could be hand, foot and mouth... check his mouth for little ulcers and his hands and feet (could even be just teeny tiny spots).

It looks exactly like what DS had at around the same age - I talked to the nurse at his 3mth jabs because I thought it was the start of chicken pox too but he just got a couple and they disappeared about a week later... DS had no other symptoms at all. He had 2 on his face and one on each arm, I think from memory...
The nurse said something about maybe being foot and mouth but she wasn't concerned and he was fine, just his usual self. If you are really concerned, take him to the Dr. I just kept an eye on DS and seeing as he wasn't exhibiting anything else of concern I never went to the Dr.

TBH they look like the same spots as what Jackson had when he had the Chicken Pox. If they are filled with fluid I'd have him checked out.
Jackson has also had hand foot and mouth and the blisters were similar but not pimple looking.

They look very similar to Jacob's staph infection, but I don't think they are, if they're not filled with puss. He had nasty puss-filled ones all over, poor kiddo.
I think it's a good idea to take him back if they're not gone over the the weekend, but I'm sure he'll be fine till then.

DD had something similar a while back, but was dots on her arms and legs rather than trunk or face like chicken pox might be. I took her to the docs just incase and they said it was just a weird viral rash (don't they always say that!) They never blistered or become fluid filled just stayed the same as they first came up.
Anyway they took about 2 weeks to dissapear, didnt affect her or change her mood or anything, just weird spots!

Foot and Mouth! I thought that was restricted to cows in 90's UK! But no - no other spots, even teeny ones and certainly none in the mouth. Odd!
Mealz, sounds like we have a matching set.
He certainly will be going back to the Doc on Monday was more curious then anything else.
I went and had a poke at him (well, them) and they're not liquid filled like a blister, they are quite solid but not raised lumps like i would expect a bite to be.
Babies, eh...they are dribbly, lumpy mysteries.

DD always has spots like that they're normally flea or mozzie bites, I'm not sure what they look like when she first gets them but as they stay they look like that kinda a little pimply looking. She has a couple on her legs and feet atm I would take a pic but she's sleeping!

The ones DS had went flatter, then darker red, then disappeared.

spots are just SO hard huh?
We've had some similar - once with 1 child ended up being chickenpox, one we think was flea bites, and another time ended up being an allergic reaction...
If only we could scan them for answers...

To me looks like flea/mosquito bites. I find they look a bit funny on babies.. but it's hard to tell without seeing them in person.
Worth knowing that sometimes chicken pox can be just a few spots and people sometimes don't realise they've had it already!

They could well be bites i guess, though they havent gone down or anything after 4 days which i'd expect? I almost hope it IS chicken pox - two spots, and a happy baby...beats lots of spots and a grumpy itchy thing later on.

Hmmm I'd pop to the docs jic. My DD has scabies atm which is apparently going round. I thought it was eczema. Doc thought staph infection, eczema (infected) or scabies.

I would vote staph infection if he has broken skin (like eczema etc) that the bugs could get into, otherwise I would doubt it was that. I feel like DD has had similar spots, but cant remember when/how etc (which is why I thought staph, weve had our fair share!)
Make sure you put us out of our misery when you come back from the Drs!!

Oh and DD's bites don't go down for AGES. She always has bites on her poor little thing, slight allergy I think to them but they can be there for weeks at a time
