anyone out there who has had a november baby - did you need any merino stuff or was it too warm.
my previous babies are mid winter ones but not so sure about november. is cotton stuff enough?

My baby was born late november and I found a couple of merino body suits good to have for the odd cold day and chilly morning, but mostly he was dressed in cotton. Where in the country are you? I am in Auckland but down south you might need more

I'm just out of Christchurch and DS2 was born late November. I needed some merino stuff as we still had the odd cold day until it really warmed up. It still got quite cold at night so needed to dress him warmly at night.

Our baby was born mid November, we had her in merino for about a month at nighttime (we're in Auckland). But I would probably just stick with cotton if I were you and you're in a not too cold place, you could just put on two layers (ie bodysuit and AIO), and then use blankets for colder nights.

I bought lots of pants, sweaters etc as I thought babies needed to be kept rugged up but I've hardly used any of it, from about a month old they are little sweatboxes!!! Short sleeve bodysuits or singlets are all you need in those hot summer months.

My baby was born labour weekend and I had a couple of merino onesie singlets, for a newborn there were still some cooler nights.
Didn't last long this past November was very hot and humid we are in Akl.

DS was born 30th Oct and we never used merino and we're in wellington. Had lots of woolen cardis as well which hardly got any use and they fit him till almost 4 months.

Early Nov baby in Nelson, we didn't have any merino things for her, just a few of those wool singlet/onsies from farmers (if they still have those, they last forever, I even used one last winter when she was 18 months, size 000!). She was a big warm baby though and our house was warm and well insulated.

Ha ha, I am the opposite!

We're in Wellington and I often used merino because it's warm in the cold and cool in the warm. I had quite a lot of merino stuff and loved it, but I wouldn't have said it was a necessity through summer.

However, the last couple of weeks here I've been using it a lot more as it's suddenly got a lot colder!

DD was a teeny tiny newborn without an ounce of fat on her, I liked having merino next to her skin as its great if its warm or cold. Easier to wash in the machine than normal wool.
