Does anyone have a recommendation for a good childcare centre in Chch. Only looking part time and would like one that lets us use our awesome cloth nappies haha!

not sure if the part time will be 3 days a week or short days every day yet.

PM if you have any recommendations please

Oh, and prefer western suburbs or around Addington. Maybe Northern suburbs...we don't actually have a house yet

Rabbit Patch is great - they have 3 locations and but are all over Burnside/Harewood side.

I have a friend whose child goes to Kiwi Kids (I think its called) in Halswell and she loves it...Nathan Astle owns it so that may help if you want to google it incase I have the name wrong.

Forfar St Nursery and Preschool is great but has a wait list. Its in St Albans.

Minevera House is awesome too. I looked at changing my kids to there as its new and purpose built so has some awesome features but they couldn't guarentee me a full time space for when I needed it.

I have also heard good reports about Ready Steady Play and thats in Burwood.

Hope that helps.

ABC Aidanfield is good, as is the Halswell one.

I wouldn't recommend the Nurtury, have had 2 friends pull their kids out of there as not happy with management.

Edu Kids (also in Halswell) is great too.

lollipops educare in addington is great , i went and had a look recently as thinking about switching my daughter from lolipops educare in avonside to addington as my work has moved across the rd from the addington one . I havent yet decided if i will move her as she is pretty settled where she is but when i had a look they looked great and really friendly staff . They provide the nappies (disposable ) and food and i am not too sure if theywill use cloth , they may do .

Awesome, thanks everyone. Did have a look at the one by the Pioneer pool when I was looking at the pool and it seemed nice enough, they seem to have flexible hours ie can do as little or as many hours as I need which is handy....
Will go check out some of these others too!

Seems that the Lollipops in Addington is changing to Kindercare, so does anyone know what Kindercare are like?

I have had my two at kindercare since they were 19 months and 3 years and have loved it! They feed them a cooked vegetarian lunch and provide all snacks. I have had no issues with our one (Coopers road) and they were more than happy to use cloth nappies. However the Burwood one wouldn't use them so do check that out.

They sent me a letter because our centre is still closed from the EQ. I have only awesome things to say about Kindercare Armagh street (the teachers will be going to addington) but only dreadful things to say about Ferry road.

I have just managed to get my girl into the CPIT centre, they have good reviews but huge waiting lists.

I have also heard fantastic reviews on The Nurtury so interesting to hear someone has had to pull their kids out of there. My parents look after my DD while I work part time but I'm looking into maybe putting her into day care a few days a week when she is 18 months old and have looked around the Nurtury and I was really really impressed by the set up and the staff.

I have heard the staff is great, but both people have had huge issues with lack of communication from the manager on many occasions which led them to find somewhere that valued the parents as well as the kids. It's a shame really because they both said the setup was great, but felt the whole package wasn't there due to the management side letting the outfit down.

Like anything, you need to make your mind up. And who knows, the manager may have changed since then.
