*sigh* I know. Does that mean the people with the money will now go out and choose to have 2 girls so they can be rich and happy.
I had 3 sisters and a brither, yeah we fought but honestly I couldn't see it any other way.
I really beginning to think about what our world is coming to. Its really pathetic.

*snorts* for 12.5 years my mum had 2 daughters and it sure as hell wasnt pretty... having 2 girls pinching each others toys/clothes etc, I'd take boys any day lol! (Not that I'd give my DD back in a heartbeat, but ykwim )

There is no point being upset by a study result, what they found is what they found. Whether the study was worth doing or not is another matter... and what relevance the study findings have to ANYONE is questionable, but research is often just about asking a question and doing a study to find out an answer....

I would be interested to see the actual study, as newspaper reports of scientific studies are notoriously inaccurate!

Newspaper reports of most things are hugely inaccurate as they are just tabloid BS and I really do wonder where they find these "studies" and if they are actually read how the are then laid out in the media or if its just twisted to make a good story

When you have 3 boys and would much like a girl due to my upbringing of not having a mother and then not having a daughter to try and live vicariously through, these sorts of "studies" can be upsetting even if it just that a "study" ....

All children are different in personality so I'm not sure how they can draw that conclusion. I have two nieces and they sure as hell aren't quiet and are constantly bickering which goes against what the article is saying. We had them all weekend and I couldn't wait to give them back for some peace and quiet!

My nieces are the same always picking at each other and they're 5 years apart.
It's not like you can plan which way your family is going to go, unless you adopt I suppose.

Having siblings isn't all its cracked up to be either.

I think we can be sure the study didn't say "all families with two daughters are happy" - just that given the study's findings, families with two daughters are statistically more likely to be happy than families with other combinations of children studied.....

Lol

Thats all I can say. I had 2 brothers and a sister (2 boys 2 girls) and we got along pretty well.

I'm going to end up with (at least) 2 girls. honestly, you don't have a baby just to have 1 gender, yes you might prefer one, but in the end you can't (shouldn't except for medical reasons IMO) control it so you just love whoever you get!

And ditto on the personalities, there is such a huge combination, and some (boy or girl doesn't matter) are just NOT going to get along!

haven't read replies..but ugh.. I constantly find people seem to think two boys means ..oh poor her she doesn't have a daughter and know several people upset because they had a boy..don't start me on that...lol but i get that it's very generalised and a bizarre study lol:) but I love having two boys !! yah the boys!:)

I got on with my brother but most of our friends didn't and the two girls were the worst lol:)

Id have to say that my two boys (cant include the eldest as he lives with his dad) but they get along soooo well...I reckon age gaps have more influence on things than gender.

I love my boys and I would love a girl for my own selfish reasons......of which I dont care what anyone thinks but I only have one life and I really really wanted to be able to do girlie things with a mother or a daughter and since I cant change having a mother around I would like to have a daughter but I dont think thats gonna happen either and I do get upset now and then about that....maybe Im gonna have to convince one of my boys to go get manicures and pedicures and do girlie things......LOL.....yeah right

Even if you had a girl Lou - you could have got someone like me who would have refused anything girlie anyway :-)

I have 1 sister and the below that I got from the article was most definitely not true when we were younger!!

BENEFITS OF HAVING TWO GIRLS:

1.Rarely noisy

2.Help around the house

3.Very few fights and arguments

4.Quite easy to reason with

5.Play together nicely

6.Rarely ignore each other

7.They confide in you

8.Very well behaved

9.Rarely try to wind each other up

10.Really like each other

So I just have to hope for another girl then, and our house will be so lovely and harmonious

Hahaha, this just cracks me up.
Especially nr 4 - easy to reason with. (I should probably hurry up with our next baby, as that will obviously solve all our problems with our stubborn DD )
And nr8 - Very well behaved. I'm glad that happens automatically as well.

Too funny

Haha - Mum was one of two girls, and she had four girls, so she'd probably be the one to ask if this is true.

Incidentally, she and her sister have never gotten along, and no longer speak. My sisters and I are always arguing, but only ever about the small stuff, I couldn't imagine never speaking to them again.
