Rhiannon had grommets put in and her tonsils and adnoids out on wednesday morning. My question is for those of those whos kids have had this, how long did you keep your kids on their pain meds.

She is on Pamol 6 hours, and has fendpead 6hourly if needed as well...we are on day 4 now and part from real manky breath doesnt seem to be in any pain at all..so do i still keep up with the pamol for another day or so (i am only giving the fenpead if she really needs it).

Oh and how long does the manky breath last.
and any suggestions on how to get her to stop gagging when taking the meds...shes even gagging on the pamol now.

Oh and sorry one last questions

She has eardrops for the grommets, and they hurt when they go in, is this normal (she doesnt need them anymore, only needed it for 3 days)

Eardrops arent nice even after grommet surgery. Its not that they "hurt" as such, its more that they feel wierd and uncomfortable. I dont think that ever changes. O has the odd ear infection (he got grommets 2yrs ago) and he still cries when they go in.

Sorry cant help much with the other questions, but good luck. Hope that she feels better soon!

We didn't do much pain relief other than pamol for a week. Just until the scabs come off for the tonsils. The high dose pain relief was only for a few days. Yay you won't recognise your child in a few months. It was the best thing we ever did. She grew and started talking and just became so much happier in herself.
