Does anyone know if any cosmetic counters will do make-up if you purchase some product?
I've got a wedding next week, and all I want is to look rested! We went to a wedding last month, and I thought I looked ok, but in the photos you can definitely see I haven't slept in months  And this is my sister-in-law's wedding, so there'll be tons of family photos.

I am in South Island but am sure you could get it done at quite a few places for that price. I was bridesmaid at a wedding on sat and girl who did my make-up works at a unichem pharmacy.
She did it for free on sat as was a friend of the brides but she was telling me that she does Bridal Make up normally for $45. |

I know the ladies that are at the Elizabeth Arden counter at Farmers St Lukes and they do make up, one of them did my make up for my wedding. Not sure of any costs involved though, give them a call and enquire ------------- Lindsey

If you've got a MAC shop near you I'd go there - I've had a full face done and wasn't pressured to buy anything, although I ended up buying heaps. Maybe you could be a bit sneaky and just say you're looking at updating your makeup but not sure yet and can they try some things on you. Most of them will do a full face for you and then you can just buy something in your price range  -------------

The MAC counters always do awesome makeup, last time I had mine done they didn't even charge me (I was going to a concert!) Can't remember where in Auckland sells MAC, but I know I've bought it there before

Clinique are good too, and i usually use the line of well since its inside the mall i might just wear it and see what it looks like in natural light outside and come back on payday and they are fine with that!!!

I often get Napoleon to do my make up for occasions, and its about $50ish which is then redeemable on make up. So basically spend $50 on make up and you get a free makeover.

The Chancery MAC store is closing down soon, but there is one at Smith & Caughey's on Queen St.
I would go there too, the products are divine and is what most of my kit is made up of

| MIL works for life pharmacy as a shiseido rep. I think it is $50 which is waived if you buy that much in product. You have to book though. So ring around as I think it is the standard protocol and book in. At least this way you get some makeup for $50 as well as having it done on the day rather than a make up artist doing it with no goodies at the end. |

kiwi2, that is the only thing with a make up artist. For most of the weddings I've been involved in, make up has been done at a counter/store. As you want to be able to buy the lipstick or other make up to touch up on the day. And its like its free. Rather than paying to get your make up done, and no product.
