I had great intentions of getting down and scrubbing the carpet today, but now I just can't be bothered, so instead I'm having a lie down while DS is having a nap.
Pudgy - who are these cleaning fairies you speak of?? I've never had them, let alone had them go on strike

Can totally recommend a Bisell steam mop - not cheap but well worth the investment!! I did loads of research when i brought one and this came out best.
Although I have to buy another one since I left that one in OZ - and boy do I miss it!

if it's not the dust, it's dog hair or food, why eat it when you can throw it on the floor eh????
Mmmmm steam mop, might be a good option for me! i don't think we'll be getting a cleaner anytime soon
it's just such a thankless job.

It feels like groundhog day every day!
I hate mopping!! I'd love a steam mop, but will have to wait til I go back to work, boo! Weirdly I don't mind vacuuming, maybe it's cos the baby loves the vacuum cleaner and chases me around

My DH will usually notice and say thanks, though TBH I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not! Is our house soo messy that it's easy to tell when something has been tidied??

haha, mine expects a pat on the back when hes done anything, but when I do all that and more its just taken for granted that i will/have done it... funnily enough after 2 weeks at home playing SAHD, he reckons he'll be going back to work on Wednesday for a holiday... I highly doubt he will call the life of a SAHM easy again!

I would sooo love DH to spend a week with DD and everything that goes with it. See if he could do it day in, day out. For me it's not hard work just very, very monotonous, just the cleaning part, oh and changing nappies doesn't do it for me either! i hate poo!
i shouldn't complain though, I am lucky to be able to stay at home with DD which i am eternally grateful. Lots of people have it much worse right now. Just where is my magic wand???? begon dust, begon dog hair, begon food!
i need some magic

I got a dishwasher for valentines! guess DH hated that I hated doing the dishes too!! but he must hate them even more aye!
I vaccuum everyday, washing every day, dont mind it too much but I hate folding clothes!!! If I leave it a couple of days I hate it even more!!
I have to have clean, and I guess there is only one way to get it, but the toddler bomb that goes off in here twice a day is so tedious - god I love kindy days !!

Do those steam mops work well on carpets as well or just tile/kitchen type floors?
Just wondering as we had two refluxy babies so lots of baby milk vomits that have been cleaned up but the stain or change of carpet colour is slightly still there...?
Maybe I'm better off hiring a proper professional? or hiring a rug doctor and do it ourselves?

Just check out the type of carpet Carnelian, alot will shrink with a steam mop or rug doctor!!!
We got on eof the green $99 steam mops from Godfreys and its brilliant! Definitely makes the task easier!
We also bought an excellent vacuum which makes the carpet a HEAP cleaner, I find it helps me to see a result at the end haha nothing worse than cleaning and no-one noticing!!

Might have to look into one of those steam mops. Mopping the dinning room tiles are a pain!

I've borrowed a steam mop off mum - its great I pretty much never washed the floors but now its super easy - and great for the polished wood!
She got hers off TM its a H2O mop, about $60 i think... I've told her to buy herself another one & i'll pay for it cause I've been thrashing hers!

I don't hate doing housework/washing, in fact I love it. I love the accomplishment, and the satisfaction of a clean home and clean, fresh, folded clothes. HOWEVER. My gripe is (1) never having the time these days to do it to the same standards before having kids and (2) seeing my efforts destroyed within minutes by 2 little tornadoes so I feel like it's a waste of time. I miss the days when I used to be able to do all the housework and washing (which wasn't even half of what I do now) in one day, every weekend, and the house would stay clean and tidy for the week!! Oh and to be able to vaccuum the floors these days, I first have to find it under all the toys.
