Dh and I are moving out onto farm in May. They milk year round but I'm not 100% sure what Dhs role will be on the farm yet.

Just wanting to know what you do to fill your days??

I can see myself getting sooooooo bored We live really close to town now and I can go for small walks multiple times a day, normally in tune with DS's sleeps.
We will be 20mins from town, so I'll probably be coming into town twice a week (swimming + music and movement class). We will probably join play centre which is out that way so that will be 3 days I'll be at least going off the farm....

I'm just not sure how I'm going to fill my days I already know I'm really going to miss walking (and I'm sure my waistline will miss me walking too ) even though DH says I can drive into town to go walking (yeah cos thats practical! )

I won't be working on the farm at all

I don't think walking on the farm will be quite the same as going walking through shops
But I probably will go walking on the farm, but won't have the motivation to walk the way I do in town. Plus in town I can walking with friends and thats a lot easier than walking alone I don't think walking in gumboots will be as easy either and I can't see walking in shoes as easy, it will be winter and we are in Southland!

Gotta be somewhat realistic right

Start a vege garden, have some animals, make stuff, do baking, hang out on OB all day..... lol Do you have a road near by that you could walk along, or a river? If you can sew and want to then start making stuff?

I grew up on a farm and used to walk/run all over it, just need a old pairs of trainers.

My Mum never did farm work, she was really into to gardening, which if my DD is anything to go by, small toddlers love. My parents entertained at home a lot, Mum was involved with playgroups and that sort of thing. Plus from Mmeory they had a group of 3 Mums, two of then would go for a run around the place, while other looked after kids, then the swapped around. We spent a lot of time as preschoolers and older kids out with Dad on the farm to. Lots of people are in the same boat and do playdates etc.
