I was given a booster seat the other day by my Aunty and Uncle.
Just wondering when you start using them? Age or weight wise?
I'll stick with the carseat I've got until Han grows out of it, but if she is big/old enough to use the booster seat as a back up then it'll solve a whooooole lot of bother by not having to swap the carseat over. (It's mainly the locking clip that takes forever to get sorted. Frigging thing.)

I think it depends on the booster seat brand to what weight Hannah will need to be to be safe in it. I would have a look on the net at the brands website to find out.

I'm naughty - we never used the locking clip
Some booster seats are 12kg and some are 18kg. I think roughly about age 2 is when they can start going in one. We have one as a back up for Maya too, we use it in Willie's car or when she is in someone elses car.
She has an Evenflo Apollo in my car which is a convertible seat/booster that you are supposed to take the 5 point harness off when they get to 18kg, but she is 18.5kg and still fits the harness so I haven't taken it off yet.

We have one and have used it once when Andrew had an accident in his car seat. He ws far too small for it and I had to have him sitting in the front seat next to me jsut so I could keep as eye on him and keep him seated. Try her in t and see how she goes in it.

Oh yeah Nikki another thing to watch is if Hannah can get the clip undone. Miss Thing here has had herself out of the booster seat a couple of times in the middle of the motorway...

Yeah Ella used my niece's booster seat in Mum's car once when we forgot to get her seat out of our car.
She was all over the place, and climbing about while we were on the motorway, when we couldn't pull over to put her back in!

I think you can use the when the seatbelt goes over the chest, rather than the neck or head. We've got one here for Jake but haven't used it yet cause he has one he fits into nicely.

I think most of the new boosters are for 12 or 14kg. Most children can fit into them by 2 1/2 years. Hannah (my Hannah) has been in a booster for about 3 months now, she is average weight but a little short for her age. Fortunately she's not one to try undoing buckles etc (but loves the electric windows!) so I have put her in just with a seatbelt and it works fine. She finds it a lot more comfy than carseats, she had been complaining of sore backs from them - I guess the pressure (weight) after a certain amount of travel.
If your Hannah is tall she could probably fit one already, but if she likes to play with the buckles I'd delay it for a while yet!

Oh yeah, and you can get harnesses to go with the boosters for smaller kids too. Mum and Dad bought one for Maya in their car in Oz.

Yeah, it had a picture of a harness on the little instruction panel thingy.
I'm not sure how Han would be with the buckle... I'd say she'd be a clicker, but I don't think she knows how to do it yet. Might have to keep that little secret to myself!!
And thanks ladies! I'll just go look at the Safe n Sound website to see what their specification things are, but it seems a viable option when we are using a different car. (That only happens once every couple of months anyway.)
