My boy has been walking since ten months and he is now 12 months. Problem is he has very fat feet and I can't find any shoes to fit him anywhere. Currently he is wearing a pair of slip ons/first walkers which just get ruined in a matter of days as he loves outdoors. I could go through a pair every two weeks easily. Any ideas??

Good Luck! I have the same problem and its just a matter of taking mine with me and trying on 500 pairs. I find sandles are usually ok as you can get the valcro ones that have the double straps. Winter I really struggle as gumboots and sneakers are hard to find. My 15 month old only has 1 pair of sandels and they are ugly but from number 1 ($15). I have hunted high and low for shoes for him as he also walked at 10 months and most of the wider fitting shoes are have no decent sole on them as they are made for first walkers but he is past those.
My advice spend an entire day trying shoes on and then buy that pair in the next 2-3 sizes if they are cheap enough to do that!

My daughter is the same and I struggle to buy shoes for her. You really need to look around different shops and different styles. I did what Peanut suggested and when we found a pair of shoes that fit her I bought the next few sizes at the same time. It's about time to go shopping again though *sigh*

He does go bare feet when not at preschool but he does need to wear shoes there and barefoot in dunedin's winter is not an option...lol.
What kind/brands of shoes have others used? I can only use Tommy Tickle on my boy.

Yep my girl is in bare feet most of the time too, but when we are out walking, shopping etc she needs to wear shoes (too much dog poo, broken glass, sharp stones etc!).
Umm as for brands, I'm not sure, lol! I tend to be able to find something at the Warehouse or Number 1 shoes. During summer she is mostly in Croc-type shoes. Last winter she lived in her gumboots (her choice - she loved them!).

Have you tried Bobux? The I-walks are great, my daughter has wide feet and they fit really well. Or socks with the soft leather Bobux slippers?

lol had the same probs with my son when he was little, hes now 2 1/2 and his feet have slimmed out, but it took trying on HEAPS of different shoes to find ones that his chubby feet would fit into.
Ive found Kmart the best for shoes!

Haven't read other posts but my DD has chubby feet, she is currently in size 3-4/21... But a size 2 would fit if it wasn't for her chubby feet! And while the size 3-4 fit (depending on where you get it) it's a bit umm loose...

Both my boys are the same, and its a real pain trying to find shoes that open up wide enough to get their chubby and wide feet in. Both of them walked at 10 months also.
Currently the both wear crocs and that is about it. The youngest is normally in bare feet, but if we are going on the hot ground or to church or something, I will normally put shoes on him. The older one wears his whenever we go out or he is at preschool.
I have found every now and then I find a pair at the warehouse that fit...never thought about buying the next couple of sizes...thats a good idea.
I also find some of those little bobux type shoes fit well with my littlest guy. I have a few pairs of hand me downs and they are good on bare feet or over socks.

I don't have any suggestions for the fat feet bit, as my DD, at 8 months, still fits the NB bobux size (miniscule feet!)....but thought I'd put in here that the hoof website has an awesome esale at the moment :-)

Well, I have managed to get a pair of shoes for my boy. I bought a pair of Brazillian made "fizio flex"?? pretty expensive but they fit. Putting them on properly helps too. Opening the shoe right up to get the foot in certainly helps....lol.

my DD doesn't have fat feet, but she does wear orthotics which make them a lot wider than normal. We find Bobux shoes the best for fitting over her orthotics...if you are anywhere near akld, the outlet store is great!
