| Alexis is getting christened on Sunday. What do I need to organise I have never been to a christening before. I know I need to get her a white dress. Anything else? Also do you normally make a donation to the church/minister like you do when you get married? |

We had DD dedicated in my mother's garden. We know the pastor personally and he said he doesn't like accepting anything for doing it. I guess if you feel like making a donation to the church you can.
I don't really think there is anything else you need unless there is something special you would like done at the Christening. My sister presented a necklace to DD and a few family members wanted to say a few things and then we all went and planted a tree for DD with the pastor blessing it. ------------- http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/545141" rel="nofollow">  |

I guess it depends on the religion and the parish... We're Catholic and our parish wanted us to have a Baptismal stole and a candle in addition to the white outfit. We also gave a donation to the Parish which I think is one of those unwritten 'rules'.
