Hi everyone,
We currently have a Radian for our 7 month old as I really want to keep him rear facing as long as possible. My Mum wants to buy a car seat for her car as she will be looking after him a few days a week once I go back to work. What would be a cheaper alternative as I know she won't be keen to spend the $500 we did for our Radian? Obviously I still want one that is safe!
Any info would be much appreciated :)
I also posted in Product Reviews but thought I might get more hits here!

if you have a look in the thread for Extended Rearfacing in the "News" section there is a heap of info in there for cheaper seats.
I think one is the Cosco Scenaro??

We have the cosco scenera, it goes up to 15.9kg rearfacing and is only $199 (or cheaper on special), it is very bare bones, (in that it is just seat with cover, no pretty fluffy cushions etc) but obviously still safe.

Yup Cosco Scenera is the cheaper option - doesn't RF for as long as the Radian but goes for longer than most other seats in NZ!

apriletta. My mum has just purchased a cosco to use when she looks after DS a couple of days a week. We have the brio. It really is a basic seat, not as "solid" as the brio or radain. But it is a good price and it will do the job. I figure I can reassess the seat when he is 16kg, who know what else may be available at that point.
Otherwise there is the safety 1st air protect that baby factory are selling at $350.
