This forum is for Christchurch families to request things you are in need of. For OHBaby! Members keen to help and give what we can to support you. This is an informal system so please be sensitive. PM can be used to send postal addresses if you wish to keep details private.
We are thinking of you all and your children at this time. After the September Earth quake we had a live chat with our psychologist experts regarding helping children cope through their fear of what has happened etc. We will make this live again tomorrow for you to read through. Xx |

I can go through all our wardrobes and see what I can find. Should be able to find baby through to 3/4yr old stuff. I am size 10-12 and DH would be a L. If anyone needs any clothes in these sizes then please PM ------------- Lindsey

We are in Hawkes Bay but I can send anything I can.
We have NB through to 1 girls & a little bit of unisex. Heaps of baby blankets. DP is a L (we have a bit of M that was about to go to the clothing bin....all in great nick) and I have some 12 stuff. Towels, sheets,etc |

We're in Kaiapoi, we have running water, not sure at this stage if it needs to be boiled, was unclear from the council website but anyone is welcome to come fill containers (will ring council as soon as poss to find out whether boiling is needed). PM me for address, I will be home all day.
Kaiapoi is only mildly damaged this time round and both bridges over waimak are fine so as long as you can get out of the city the roads into us will be fine. -------------

I don't have a lot to give, but I do have a car and the ability to travel today or tomorrow, so maybe we could do a bit of a drive in Dunedin... blankets, warm baby clothes, formula, etc. Sending that kind of stuff is going to be expensive/slow, but I'm sure they are going to be needing it quickly. I have plenty of girls baby clothes from NB to 1year, as well as blankets.
Some jars / tins of baby food also available. Disposables of various sizes too. I live in Auckland but if anyone cant get home or wants to get out I can make room for you. We have a portacot and spare double bed. I am lucky my family and friends are safe and well - I feel so useless and will do anything to help. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

We have girls clothing up to size 2, womens clothing size 10-14 and mens clothing L and XL. Also have sheets that can send down. Could do parcels of food, formual etc whatever is needed.
DH and i are looking into the 'break from the quake' group set up on FB but we live in Northland (30 mins north of Whangarei) but have a spare room with a king and double bed if anyone needs a break. Hugs, thoughs and prayers to everyone down there! -------------  Angel Baby Aug '12, Feb '13 |

We have room for people to stay if they need in Stokes Valley Lower Hutt, We have a double bed in one room, double futon in our lounge, and also a cot (our baby can go in our room with us in a portacot) and single bed in another room. There is also a bassinet that can be used in any of the two rooms or the lounge. Can pick up from the airport or central wellington train station up to 5 other people during the day, and 6 people after 5pm. My contact number is 0223496622. -------------

if anyone in christchurc needs petrol we have just been to the Halswell challenge station and there is petrol there and very small queues ( as apposed to the caltex i passed today that had a queue about 2hours long, we only waited at the challenge for about 5min) the price has gone up 3c overnight which i think is a bit cheeky. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

Hi, we have plenty of clothes for boys or girls (girls up to 2, boys to 4).
Also we have 2 furnished houses here on farm that are available for families that want to get away. Porta cot here and anything else that is needed. 10 min from Oamaru -------------

A big hello to everyone. (Before I make this announcement - I would like to mention that Admin have given us permission to link this information)
There are a group of myself and some friends who have started a page to help raise money to donate to both The Salvation Army and the Christchurch Women's Refuge. We are holding auctions on TradeMe (who have agreed to waive all fees) where the money will then be collected and donated. The auctions are for quality handmade goods and so far the response has been overwhelming with items coming from as far as the states! We would love if you could simply spread the word. We are accepting donations of quality handmade goods by everyone - not just businesses or facebook pages. We will be loading the auctions in groups of 10-15 items at a time. My Sister has a Kindergarten in Bexley (lots of liquefaction etc. and low socio-economic). Some of the families are out of their homes for the second time. I'm going to send down a few boxes of supplies for them from Auckland, starting tomorrow.
Jen said anything is helpful to this community right now. I'm sending baby clothes/wraps/blankets & some adult clothes & towels tomorrow for a start. Hi, I'm in Woodend just 15mins north of Christchurch and I've joined with Cat Rescue and have started fostering cats/kittens that have been affected by the Earthquake.
I have picked up my first kittens - two gorgeous little boys. I have been given some cat food for them but the wet food is adult food as that is all the home has as they live off donations only. I do have some kitten bisc. I am wondering if anyone would be interested in donating kitten food to me to pass on to cat rescue or sending it directly to them? I can pm/email my address to you directly whoever is keen to help or this is their website. I have been dealing with Sacha. http://www.catrescue.org.nz/ My wee guys are doing ok but I think where possible, would be better on kitten food. I am going to try to go out today and buy some more but I know there is a bit of a lack of it around and also my husband has been working in the welfare centres so I have been looking after the kids here at home. I'm still a little nervous to take the kids out after the earthquake. I will explain our situation, I live in the North Shore in Auckland, and immediately after the earthquake in ch-ch, my Mother, 18yearold sister, her 6 moth old daughter, fled their home in Addington Christchurch and have moved up here permanently to safer unshaky grounds. I Have found a home for them to rent in Te Atatu, and they move in on wednesday, we have sourced all the very basic furniture and goods to get them started again, thru trade me ect, but the PROBLEM is we now have my other 2 sisters (one is pregnant) and another 2 babies moving up this weekend too. They have had to sell all their personal belongings, and obviously there is a baggage allowance, so basically they are staring from scratch also! If anyone can help us out with second hand anything for wee ones, that would be much appreciated! Such a huge stress for so many families. Just want to say THANKS to everyone that has been able to help
We fled chch a few days after the Quake and DH's sister talked to her friends who organised some clothes for DD and toys for her. This was so great as we were able to bring a suitcase but only brought 1 or 2 of things, and left in such a rush. Never even thought to bring toys or anything (and 2 year olds get so bored!) so it was great to have something for the 2 1/2 weeks we were up there. So yea, thankyou to those that helped us and to everyone who helped out in the relief effort! Carnelian, I hope you did get some replies. That's great you are able to foster some cats for awhile! leigh4 I hope you get some help too.
