3 of my less than a year old itti bitti nappies have delaminated and I'm not sure if its something I'm doing wrong or manufacturing? I put through on the rinse cycle with Canesten In Wash then wash on a cold or warm cycle. I rarely tumble dry and when I do I always use low setting. It doesn't seem to affect the use of the nappies just make a crunchy sound when I put them on DD and look a bit bunched up at the back.

Has anyone else had this happen or know anything about it?

I had it happen to one of mine, never did anything different with it. I wash mine in ecostore and rarely tumble dry, was random cos the others I bought at the same time never did it (since sold them so hopefully they didn't do it to their new owner either). Like you said it seemed to still work fine was just crunchy and bunched up a bit.

I sent all my ittis back 2 weeks ago and am still waiting to see if she will replace them (they were in less than a couple of months use but bought a lot earlier) because I'm honestly p*ssed off with the whole itti bitti thing by now.
Anyway I got told that they had a problem with 'other' pul in one of their batches and had heaps of returns......

don't have more than that to say at the moment....

If they are less than a year old they'll replace them. I had some of mine do that & they were replaced.

I've had a few do that, I had no problems returning them. Which reminds me I have a few to send back again! Gutted!!!

She said its nothing to do with what I do with them (I double/triple checked what I was doing with washing etc with her also!) but it seems to just happen.

I bought mine quite a while before I used them too (while I was still pregnant) So FX I dont go out of the year still having problems with them

What happens if the nappies delaminate? How do you know if this has happened?

All my large nappies have done this. Theya re all crunchy when you put them on but they still work well. I had one thatstuck to itself and became inusable but the rest still work. I sent back three of them and they replaced them but actually it all my larges and none of my mediums. Am pretty bummed about it.
I was told it was probably because I was using a frontloader and they weren't being washed in enough water. But why not my mediums then??
ARGH.

My medium AIO's did it but not my SIO's. 1 stuck to itself and became unusable as well, and the AIO's aren't as good as they used to be. Bought them around a year ago, probably just under. I thought the NZ itti bitti just offered a 6 month warranty not 1 year?

Nope, it's now a 1 year warranty

I just got some replaced that I bought last Feb - although their bamboo bits were disintegrating, the PUL was fine.

Seems a lot of people have trouble with the quality and lasting abilities of itti bittis.....

Yeah some of my brand new tuttos have gone all crunchy and sticky on the outside. So time to go through the stash and put aside all the ones that aren't quite right (and track down the RIGHT insides) and find the receipts. A question.. do you send them straight to itti bitti or if you bought them at another retailer back there first?

This has been an issue with some of the batches of ittis and is in the process of being sorted. If anyone has any issues please contact the retailer you got them from or Karyn at itti bitti nz and she will happily help you out.

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for all your feedback and suggestions. I have been in touch with Karyn from Itti Bitti and she has confirmed that it is indeed delamination and is happy to replace them. Good outcome all round as I love my ittis!

Weird. I must have got good batches - most of mine were bought second hand so have already had good use, and none have done that.

It was only a small amount of them in the big scheme of things- Karyn is always happy to help as are the rest of the itti retailers :)

Did they replace them because of the inserts degrading? mine are doing this, the snaps have even pulled off a couple, and I haven't even used them that much

Yep briandoli's mum. I've got heaps (about 30, haha) about half of which are onto their second or third baby, and it was only one batch that I purchased as a six-pack that I had trouble with.

A friend of mine has inherited fuzzis that are now doing their 5th baby. I doubt my ittis will last that long! But they are super convenient and super cute, and should last for all of MY babies. They are probably not the most economical option, but they are a good choice for me and my priorities

I have today received my nappies back and am very pleased to finally have enough cloth nappies again.
Karen was very nice, for my hassle she has replaced one of the nappies with a limited edition one and I think she genuinely cares about her customers being happy with the nappies she sells.
The quality issue is obviously due to a manufacturing/material fault and I'm very happy to have my trim nappies back.

I had noticed holes appearing in my bamboo trifolds, down the sewn lines and at the edges. I'd only been using them 2 months...and it was only happening to 2 of them. I contacted Karyn at itti bitti and she happily replaced them. I fear I have a couple of medium AIOs that might be delaminating too...they're only a couple of months old. Will keep an eye on them...
