Ok so DD the last 2 nights has woken in the middle of the night (which she normally does, frequently, but a quick feed and she goes back down for 2ish hours) Ive fed her, put her back down and she doesnt go back to sleep! she sits up, talks, grizzles, rolls over, plays with her elephant thing. After her doing that for an hour at 2am this morning DH got up with her till 5, I fed her and she slept till 7... The night before I maanged to avoid getting up by putting her in bed with me (DH was away) and feeding her to sleep (which I would rather not get into the habit of, although getting up at 2am doesnt sounds great either!)
Anyone elses baby done this? Any ideas on what caused it? solved it?
The only thing I can think of is that she did a 2 hour nap yesterday arvo till 3.30... normally its 1.5 hours tops...
Any suggestions?

eta shes also just got her 7th tooth yesterday maybe her tooth was feeling funny?

He's a lot younger than Lilla, but Jacob has random episodes of doing this to. When he learnt to roll, I wake up in the night to giggles and general baby hilarity as he rolled over - and back - and over - and back in his cot at 3am I haven't worked out a way to stop him yet... but at least you're not alone!

Lily went through a phase of doing this about a month ago, no idea what caused it but it was quite tiring! I ended up setting up a mattress on the lounge floor for us. I think it was just a mixture of things - heat, teeth, etc so she found it hard to go back to sleep...

Since she's been on one day sleep she has stopped though.
Before she was having a nap about 10-12 and again at 2/3-4/5.

Portia did this lastnight! I had already been up to her twice and she was awake for quiet a while - so I put her back in her cot with lots of toys and left her to it!

Floyd used to do this too!! I rang plunket, spoke to my GP,friends etc and they all said its very common. The first few times I got upset, tried to get him back to sleep for age, then decided if he wasnt crying I'd just leave him be too!
