Not really sure what has got me thinking about this but I have been looking at good old Dr Google and it has me thinking.

DD is 13months now and BF 2-3 times per day, I have recently introduced cows milk at lunchtime, and she eats whatever we have solids wise.

So its been a while now but she has been having looser bowel movements (like leaking out of her cloth and disposables), and approx up to 3 per day, And they are smelly!!!!!

Is this cause for concern???

Did it happen the same time you introduced the milk?

If so stop the milk for about a week & see if it improves.

She also might have a tummy bug?

Has she always had loose-ish movements or is it worth now? My 1 year old DS is bf, eats three meals a day and one or two snacks and has never done a proper solid poop in his life! :-)

My daughter started to have loose motions when she was 20 months old - my GP tested for all the tummy virus (giardia etc) and all came back negative. He put it down to "Toddler Diareha"!!! I didn't believe there was such a diagnosis so he suggested putting her on a lactose free diet for 2 weeks and then re introduce milk and see what happens..

We have a new child.. She's been lactose free for about 4 months now and some things she can handle like a small amount of cooked butter or milk in baking/cooking.. But a piece of cheese or a glass of milk and she's complaining of a sore tummy and having diareha within 1/2 an hour.

DD's poo (or trots) almost smelt like amonia.. It was really foul smelling when she was on milk products..

Good luck and PM me if you have any other questions cause I've been there..
Donna

My DD had 'issues' when we were exclusively BFing if I had cheese, yoghurt... (Don't drink milk). I cut those out of my diet with BFing and noticed an improvement but my doctor told me off for cutting it out and wouldn't do any testing. Anyway I held off introducing cheese or yoghurt to DD until about 7-8mo and her poos were 'normal' (even started doing big girls poos!) until I introduced it. Since then her poos have been loose (but not watery) and very, very smelly! Anyway last week I cut out the cheese, yoghurt (butter on bread seems to be OK) and since then her poos smell less and she's back to doing big girl poos. I'm not sure if there IS an issue there or not... My doc will prob fob me off AGAIN! But yeah... I am at a loss as to what to do or if there is even a problem!

My miss 18months is the same.
We are currently whacking our heads against a brick will with her doctor, so can anyone advise on what they replace cows milk with?
