Just an FYI incase you don't get mailers.
Countdown has a 4-week onecard windback. Karicare Toddler (new #3) is down to $14.99 + 6 onecard bonus points. Will be this price until FEB 20th. (valid from today) We will be getting a couple as DS isn't far off moving up (mid March-ish). |

Slightly off but we use Nurture Gold Toddler and at Pak n Save they have it for $15.42 which is a great price but they only allow you to buy three at a time. Pathetic...it's food so why limit it. I would say especially for the toddler milk but I don't think it should be limited at all for any type. I did ask but the check out person didn't know. | Linda with things on limit I walk in and get 4 (or whatever the limit is) go put them in the car then go get another 4. Pak n save had washing powder for 99c one day so I spent aaages doing that, and I certainly wasn't the only person doing it! |

Linda, I think it's because Dairy shop owners sometimes find it cheaper to go to Pak n Save than the wholesalers and it's to prevent them from buying out the stock.
At least that's always been my interpretation on it. |

| When I was only shopping once a month I'd be buying 8 bags of cat chow each grocery shop, which was fine til it went on special, then the checkout operator said it was a limit of 6, I tried arguing I always buy that much whether it's on special or not, even said I'd pay full price for the extra two, no luck. So I got the 6, took them to car, then went back in to different checkout with another 6, ha. No problems exceeding limits at CD, last lady said it was at their discretion. |

| Yes it is because they're selling at or slightly less than cost price. Fil was a supermarket manager, he said they'd get people filling entire trolleys with one product, obviously to sell on, that was when they enforced the limit, not normally for personal shoppers. The idea is to just get you in the door, & then you'll hopefully buy more than just what you came for & choose to do the rest of your shopping too. |

You are right Caronz. People here were buying it in bulk and sending it overseas. The limits were put in place so that we wouldn't have a shortage + excessive price rises. -------------

Thanks....I did wonder about the Diary owners stocking up and do see it with a lot of products but I didn't think they would be stocking up with Baby formula, especially Toddler. I just can't help but think there is more to it.....but really must ask so I know!
Am aware that one year olds can have normal milk but with four kids we would go through the milk so fast I'd be having to go to the supermarket every couple of days. Plus if you actually work it out Formula is no more expensive than milk and the cost of formula as been quite steady lately which is not the same case as milk. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I was in the supermarket last week and was surprised there were no great deals on fruit and veges and I would have thought now was a good time for specials in this area. | lol ive actually worked out the price of formula compared to the same made-up amount of milk - and with milk prices the way they are at the moment - its actually cheaper to give formula lol. its a bit wrong that milk is dearer than formula! |
