We have now been trying for over 10 months/11 cycles (which I know isn't long at all compared to some! but still...) and I am pretty sure we haven't had any luck this month either so just wondering where we go from here. We have tried REALLY hard some months, we have done the relaxed casual thing, we took a break and have been far less stressed about it all the past 3 cycles (still charting but not being really focused). I have 'seduced' my husband when he didn't know I was ovulating- we have tried pre-seed, OPKs, day-on, day-off etc etc. We are both in our mid 20s in good health- I have lost weight and am in my healthy weight range for optimum conception. We are both excercising, eating well, zero stress, not drinking and non smokers.
We barely even thought about it this cycle- its not til now that I've even really given it any thought and I'm just starting to wonder what an earth we are supposed to do now! We wanted a smaller gap between our kids (Were hoping for 2 1/2 years) but now its going to be at least 3 1/2+ and I just don't know what to do- I'm so clucky I'm sprouting feathers and I feel like throwing a big tanty. Well going on a cruise...having almost all of December off and giving up all hope and just waiting for our first fertility assessment worked for us! But on the serious side, it is frustrating when nothing seems to be working.
My best advice would be to have a chat to your GP and see if you can start running some basic tests just to see if there is a health thing that hasn't been picked up on. Even if they all come back fine it will give you peace of mind! Good luck! ------------- http://lilypie.com">

Hey Jezsika, Unfortunately I use manual charts as I find them way better than using Fertility Friend (I went through Natural Fertility ad they give you chart pads). I tried FF for a few months earlier on but I found it so much easier just putting a dot on a chart each morning next to my bed than having to go through that site and they didn't get it right most of the time for me. I am one of those lucky people that can feel when my egg is released (most months) and they were saying I was ovulating a day after that actually happened which, if I hadn't have been doing my own charts as well, would have thrown me completely off. ------------- Jen, Charlotte 7 & Kate 3

Unfortunately if there is no known fertility probs are you dont suspect anything they will make you wait a full year. But you could try talking to your GP and seeing if they will refer you to a specialist? |

Hi ladies,
My partner and I have been TTC for 4months now, and although its not a long time in comparison to some, its driving me nuts. My friend has a 3month old at the moment and Im holding him every moment I get as Im so desperate for us to have one of our own. I havent been temp/charting, but am tempted to start. My cycle is an exact 28days and has been for the last 8yrs. Its nice to know there are others out there! Babydust for all, and I hope it comes soon! |

Jennz - I can relate - we tried for 1 cycles before I finally lost the plot and my GP ordered some basic bloods to check my progesterone, FSH and LH levels, which all came back normal. Then we got preg, had a m/c then got preg again really quickly so we never had to move to the next stage of testing. We started trying a month before Maya turned 2 and got our sticky BFP 3 days before she turned 3 so there will be just over 3 1/2 years between them.
The month we got preg we used OPK's, and BD'ed every second day from about CD10. Funnily enough tho we didn't BD the day I o'd according to the OPK and FF, so we must have caught the eggy the day before. Bumblefoot - temping can't hurt, and might give you some peace of mind, even tho it sounds like your cycle is pretty spot on. There's a couple of threads here with all the details on thermometers, charting etc. - these ladies know everything! -------------  Maya Grace (28/02/03)

bumblefoot - dont be fooled by your cycle being 28 days long meaning your ovulating. Charting can confirm if you are or not. I did ovulate for a year but yet i was having periods on a 28 day cycle. It is still possible to bleed and not ovulate.
Charting would be the best place to start to confirm if your ovulating and timing things right. Most women find when they chart they arent having sex at the right time and totally missing the eggie. Another good reason for charting is to check if you are ovulating when you think, if it is later and your cycle is still 28 days your LP is short (LP is the luetal phase after ovulation, typically suppose to be 14 days but alot of women suffer from short LPs which means the fertilized egg doesnt have a chance to implant) and if it is short it can mean there is a progesterone issue which would need to be treated with suppliments from a specialist. If you have any more questions feel free to fire them away
Oh and know that you are most fertile 2 days before ovulation and the day of ovulation so make sure your getting busy then  Ovulation Predictor Kits are awesome for timing ovulation it peaks just before (12 - 24 hours) you ovulate.
