I saw an add on TV for making your own canvas photos. You print out your photo on to the canvas then mount it on a frame with this very easy looking frame. You get a set of 3 for $60 & a free set...if you call now, lol..

It looks easy & really cool but I can not remember what it is called...think it has 2 in the title has anyone seen it or used it?

You can only get them on line...

Snapfish also do canvas prints, but probably not that cheap as they come already mounted.

I love snapfish, but would love to do them myself & it would work out to be near $10 a canvas. which is pretty cheap if it looks good

Saw this advertised and think how well they turn out is really dependent on how good your own printer is . . . ours is naff so probably not worth it!

^^ I had the same thought, mine would spit ink all over it halfway through or something.

Can you let us know how they work out if you get them? I can borrow a better printer to do mine if they're good

we are getting a new printer..it is cheaper to buy new printers than fill the ink sometimes so will ask DH if it can handle it as no point is it wont come out good.

I've seen the ad too and it really piqued my interest but am curious about the quality... my printer is okay and I definitely have some photos I would love to put onto canvas... hmmmmm, do I have the spare cash though to 'test' it!

I saw them at the Home Show earlier in the year.. quality is ok.. definately not long lasting as they have no kind of coating on them and the photo had chipped off where the canvas bent around etc... Ones you buy properly made have a clear protective coating to stop the ink chipping and UV protection.

You kinda get what you pay for I think.... They only come in one size as well

With the chipping thing maybe some clear spray varnish or something to seal it. I know you can get craft ones for de-coupage etc.

DH just looked at it & said it looks like a bubble jet printer so should work well on any printer.

SIL got a canvas print done for the IL's wedding anniversary yrs ago, it was about the same size as these but done professionally. She made us go halves & it was about $160...it sits in the corner covered with dust...looked like crap & I was not pleased paying $80 for it & she got a discount as it was mates rates.. it was black & white & off their wedding photo so maybe that's why it did not pop when I saw it.

I think they would make great xmas presents. Might email them & ask about what to use for a protective covering...

I've got them and they are great - they don't last as long as the professional ones but hey thats fine with me because I will want to change it in a few years anyway!
