Hi there im sure its been posted somewhere before but i was just wanting to know when AF returned for you for those who have had a baby. I had my second in October and DF has (for lack of a better word) crappy swimmers and it took us a while to get pg even with pre seed si i was wanting to try again pretty much straight away. Is it normal for AF to come back 2 weeks after the bleeding after birth has just stopped? TIA

it all depends. Some people get it straight after your bleed stops after birth (I got mine at 6 weeks), others maybe 10 mths.

I got mine back at 3.5 months (and am exclusively BFing so thought it would be a bit longer than that!!)... onto my second AF now, so looks like it wasn't just kidding me around the first time

I got my first AF at 7 weeks for 2 weeks BUT I had depo the day before it arrived and haven't had one since so think it may have just been the depo rather than an actual AF, am exclusively BFing and still no AF 10 months (almost) down the track. My mum and grandma both got AF at 3 months post but they we're FFing by that stage.

ETA: Rather than exclusively, it's more demand BFing... So we still have quite a few BFs a day, esp over night, only 2 during the day and one before bed and maybe 2-3+ over night! (Esp with teething!)

Mine started up 3 days after I stopped expressing (by this stage I was down to the equivalent of one bottle a day, my supply was shyte) at 4.5 months PP. Wasn't anything like my nice regular short cycles either, ranged from a 'normal' 28 days to a random CD21 ov cycle (which was hard for me cos I used to have 23-25 day cycles!)

We concieved again (with the help of Clomid) around her 1st birthday.

I got AF 2 weeks after the PP bleeding stopped, then exactly a month after that. I was exclusively breastfeeding so felt really ripped off.

Haven't got mine either and bubs is 6 months and exl BF - although you could still get preg! No reason why you need to wait to get AF back . I know I have ovulated a few times since having bubs.

Wow Limochick!! Thats quick

I got mine back the day before DD reached 11 months, and my one cycle so far was a bit longer than it used to be.

DD is just gone 9mo and I still havent had mine.
A friend was 3 months pp with her first and 2 months pp with her 2nd.

She was exclusively bfing both times, and Im still bfing my DD now. So it does vary from person to person but like others say, you can ovulate (and therefore get pg) without getting an AF - which is what im counting on myself come next month
If you are wanting to see if you are, could always get some OPKs...
