Hi ladies,

I'm in the process of trying to transition from a bottle to a sippy cup for milk.

I've tryed two different types of cup things for the transition, one of the nuby ones with the valves. And then I think (tommee tippee) ones that have three holes and a removable valve.

Neither of them seem to work. Is it worth trying a cup with a straw or is this too similar to a bottle?

What have you tried and had success with?

I haven't tried anything yet. I asked about it at DS daycare.
They said they often did the change over at the same time the kids go from the under 2s room to the over 2s room.
They get the bottle of milk, and in front of the child the tip it into a basic sippy cup and give it to the child.
If they drink it, fine. If they don't, fine.
Apparently most refuse it and fuss for a day or two, then get with the program.

We use a straw cup here (but we're only 9 months...) Imo, can't hurt to get a straw one.

Eurgh, we tried SO many cups. Straw cup seemed to work best to start with. Now Jackson uses all the million cups we bought. Thanksfully getting some use out of them!!

You can also get dirty old sippy cups (old school style) with no valves from supermarkets. But of couse, they spill.

we use a straw cup for DS milk. but he drinks his water out of a valve sippy cup just fine. I like to have them different so he can tell they are different drinks.
