My DD is 6 months, and has always been a fantastic day sleeper. But for the last 2 weeks she has refused to nap, and I'm having to resort to taking her out in the car/stroller, which is so not practical.
Every time I put her down she screams, and will not self settle, will not be fed to sleep, wont do anything!!

It's driving me crazy because she's clearly exhausted, and as she's so overtired its starting to affect her night sleeps too. I'm over it! Any advice would be appreciated, because I really don't have a clue what to do about it

Any ideas what is keeping her up? Too hot, too noisy, too tired, not tired enough, teething, sore tummy, sore ears...

Have you just started solids? Possibly that is upsetting her a bit? Maybe she's just reaching the age where she's thinking about things more and needs clearer sleep cues? Do you have a good naptime routine? It's made a world of difference here.

Can you rock her to sleep in the pram (you don't have to go out) for a couple of days to catch her up on her sleep then try again?

If she seems happier on the slope of a carseat or pram, perhaps try putting a pillow under one end of her cot mattress to see if she's more comfy slightly elevated?

Not much real help I'm afraid, but you have my sympathy!!

oh babe, nothing worse when they dont sleep! Its amazing how much we as adults need that time to recharge, and they of course need it for obvious reasons...

Did anything at all change about 2 weeks ago? Otherwise id look at what T_Rex recommends, end of the day - at the moment you just need to get her sleeping again, and then when you know she *can* then you can always try to get back into routine, or doing it the way you'd like.

Id possibly head to the doctor as well, and just get her checked out - if somethings not quite right e.g ear infection then that'd throw her sleep out.

I agree with all T-Rex's tips and with Kimnthkids, a quick check up at the Dr will put your mind at ease that it is nothing health wise.

PS And whenever things are going astray, esp sleep wise, I always tell myself, THIS TOO SHALL PASS! Everything is a phase
