Has anyone had any experience with cranial osteopath for feeding difficulties? And can you recommend a good osteo?

DD was born after a fast labour and while she is a great little feeder we are really struggling with her latch as she won't open her mouth wide, so her latch is always too shallow and my nipples are completely destroyed... LC says she has a tight jaw, so I am wondering if this is the sort of thing an osteo might help with.

Any thoughts/advice would be much appreciated

I took DD1 to one after she was born and it made a huge difference to her feeding, she stopped being so spilly etc... Not sure where you live but the one I went to is on Ponsonby Rd and is so good with babies (when I went she also had a look at me)! I'll find out her name if you live within that kind of distance...

Here is a link to a easy way of latching your baby on, might help while you wait to see someone

I can't help with any recommendations but, I saw an osteo about 5 days after DS was born as he just wouldn't latch on my right boob at all and was constantly coming off and on screaming. The osteo was amazing, DS slept as soon as we got home and actually latched well after just that first appointment. I think we ended up seeing him about 4 times initially and BFing was so so much easier.

I can't recommend them enough. Its so gentle and seems so relaxing for them.

My daughter wouldn't latch due to not opening her mouth widely enough. My LC taught me to gently open up her mouth just before latching on. Make sure her mouth is really opening before putting the nipple in.
