We are due for #3 in the upcoming weeks, DS is going to be 20mths and I don't know that he would be able to walk some distances.
Just wondering what you did when you went out? Our current buggy does not have a toddler option and we only purchased it when DS was born, so not sure if I want to upgrade again as I am not sure we will be having any more after this one.
What did you do with carting around your 2 children? Any suggestions welcome.

Will be watching this one as we are thinking about the same thing.

Have had the Baby Jogger City Mini Double stroller and I quite like the idea of it but am hesitant due to how wide it might be.....It is either that or a Phil n Teds.

Someone suggested I hire a double for 6 or so months and then when my older one is old enough to walk more or use a buggy board to then go back to our original pushchair.

Same here Rainbow..

Currently I am looking at tandem-style prams on TM (ie baby in back, toddler in front) as it means I can put the whole capsule in back, and Jae in the front, and it folds up to be about the same size as my current single 4-wheeler (which, like yours doesnt have a toddler option) Trying to find one on the cheap, once Jae starts walking around and doesnt want to be in the pram (from memory DS was close to his 3rd birthday by that stage) I will re-sell, and go back to using my single for this one.

I did look at the option of having baby in the sling and putting him/her in pram on the days where Jae is happy to walk, but since I am having a c-sect, i dont think this is really a feasible option for a couple of months at least.

My friend got the phil and ted dash with the toddler seat and that seemed to work well for her. I've got the dash too, but only used it for one so far.

I would recommend definately getting one, which ever style suits, My ratbag 2 year old has escaped twice now and Im terrified she is going to get hit by a car! On the hunt for a tandem buggy that I can afford!

I'm not going to look for a double buggy or buggy with toddler seat attachment. We will just use our mountain buggy urban (or have Jude walking) with one of our three baby carriers. Lol.

We far prefer using the carriers to the buggy - I can't remember the last time we used it! It's in the spare room gathering dust.

i had a side by side as there are 12 months between my kids but the width ended up causing me trouble as it didnt quite go through my doors at home so i couldnt be bothered going out for walks and stuff. was also hard getting round some shops with racks close together. i ended up getting a P&T E3 with toddler seat behind which i put the baby in but i walk about 10k a day and my knees knocked the back seat so i have just coughed up for one of the news ones since it will be replacing my car when i move to aussie. i was always against P&T cos they are so stupid expensive even 2nd hand but after actually using it so much i have decided it was well worth the money. the new explorer the toddler seat can clip into the front instead of the crazy zip type system which makes it a billion times easier.

my 16 month old can walk the whole distance around the supermarket if that helps to go off

We're going to have an 18 month gap (just!) between our two and have bought a double Mountain Buggy....mainly cos DF LOVES them even tho it's me that pushes them mostly *mutter mutter*  but yeah they are good buggies and great if you're gonna be doing a lot of walking like me.

We also baby wear quite a bit so TBH when bubs is newborn I envisgae wearing her and pushing Clodgah in the single MB we have. But that may change and we have a bassinette option to put on the MB if needed. There's just so much STUFF tho iykwim?!

I have a 14 month age gap!
I first used a side by side mountain buggy which I hated as it was too big!
I then got a steelcraft strider take 2 and I LOVE it, DS sits in the toddler seat on top and that works really well, there was no way he could walk next to me at 14 months. Nowdays he often walks next to me with his wrist strap on and I attach it the pram.

Look out for the next issue of OHbaby! Magazine (out on 11 October) as we've done a Tried & Tested on double buggies!

We have an 18 months age gap and we use our double mb way more than our p&t (vibe) with a toddler seat.

Its easier to push and they like to be next to each other.

Hi - I have a 13 month age gap and have just got a tandem pram of TradeMe for $70 - not flash but it scrubbed up well and will do for when I need to take both boys into town or if we go to the park. I didn't want a side by side one because they are too wide for most shops. I did think of using a front pack for the smaller one but he doesn't really like it.

My 2 boys are 21 months apart.

At the start i usually had baby in front pack and toddler in single mb. Then baby got bigger and so i got a side by side dbl mb which i love - we walk everywhere, almost daily and they both like looking where we are going.

At the moment tho i'm looking to buy a skateboard too as sometimes i need to use the single and at 2.4 Alex still isn't that great at walking.

Ty will be 20 months when this baby is born, and since DH and I often go to Botany etc and im planning on walking we wanted a pushchair that wasn't huge , so no side by side ones, wasn't too long and wasn't two pushchairs .
In the end it was between the Phil and Teds Dash, and the Steel Craft something or rather .
I liked both but we went with the P&T cos it was available at Botany and they had run out of SC when I wanted to buy one (im a very impatient person )

this is what I like about the P&T
-its not huge
-its light
-you can put the toddler seat on the top , or the bottom
-easy to fold, and folds compactly
-despite what I always thought, the seat on the bottom does get a decent view, not just of the seat above
-you can take the toddler seat off altogether later, so when Ty doesn't want to be in there any more, Mila still can without having to lug a double round

I love it, its exactly what we need, for dropping C off at school in the morning however, i'll have Ty in the umbrella stroller and Mila in the sling, as its just gonna take 5 mins....(or she could go up to class by her blimming self....)

Oh and my new found love for P&Ts is saying a lot cos I always hated them, before I actually checked them out

I went and bought one yesterday and went to the beach today, alone with both babes - what a bloody god send!!! Normally taking both out is a bit of a nightmare
couple of things though...I had to go it the outdoor to the supermarket for snacks and it was a quick dash for a pee in the public loo cause the buggy wouldnt fit so I just kind of jammed it in the door and peed real fast - no I dont normally leave my babes unattened - I was seriously busting

ooh its in the car I think Milano - not an expensive brand was only $399 from baby city - but has all the right things for me, quite sturdy and was fine in soft sand. Loads lighter than my single buggy!! has a lockable front wheel(if you prefer that), basket underneath and decent size pocket on the back , also came with a rain cover. And it looks quite smart - just black but I got pink Liners for it for my girly girls
its from newborn to 17kg
Really glad I got it (cant you tell!) mostly because I couldnt have sun protection by just adding a toddler seat to my single buggy
