So i am having major anger issues with my Phil and teds buggy. I have an E3 though one of the older ones. Im selling my car when we move to aus so i figure since i am not gonna have a car over there and ill be walking 10ks a day i may as well cough up and just buy a new one. Any suggestions as to what kind would be awesome. these are the problems im currently facing
- i have my 1 year old in the front and my 4 month old in the back. when im walking, unless i take small steps. i kick the back of finns seat all the time and my knees knock the bar at the top. im 1.64cm which is bang on avg so i dont see why it is happening
- the rain and storm covers dont fit right over the back seat properly cos it is the wrong version but the really annoying part is trying to get on the little elastic bits that keep them down at the side. do any models have a better system
i want to stay with P&T so any ideas on the best one for my 2 kids walking long distances would be awesome especially so i can take long strides without feeling like im bashing my poor son up

The Dash doubles covers go right over the top and has domes down the sides to do it up.
Cant comment on whether my legs hit the toddler seat when in tod/tod mode as I have not used it yet but they didnt when I tried it out in the shop...
I love my dash....
The new version of the sport (explorer) looks pretty cool.. think thats what I would go for if I were getting a new buggy... http://www.babyuniverse.co.nz/product/phil-amp-teds-explorer-buggy/ - explorer

We have the Vibe, it's a long time since I've used an e3 or a Sport but I do find our Vibe a lot easier than I remember the other two (which I used as doubles as well).
I've taken friends kids out with the toddler seat on the back but not the front. No trouble with kicking the back of the seat or hitting my knees or anything and I didn't feel like I had to hold the pram way out in front of me or anything. This was pre getting pregnant again and was walking 4-5km at a time. I'm 1.67m, not sure if that would make a huge difference!
We have the sun/rain covers but haven't used them much because C cooks if I use the rain cover So because it's so warm I leave him to get wet unless we really get caught out in a storm!
Can you get out to a shop to "test drive" the different models with both kids?

i just went down to baby city and tested out the new explorer. my big long short person power strides didnt knock the seat and the new covers actually zip so no toggles, velcro or domes. which is awesome. im gonna take DH down to have a look on thurs. they keep on selling out though but said the next shipment comes in mid oct which is fine cos i dont fly out til the end of oct. would still loves other opinions and experiences though in case that isnt my best option :)

yeah I really like the zips on the vibe but the domes are not fiddly on the dash covers so I am not too bothered.
would it be cheaper for DH to grab one in Aussie????

I have a dash, which I like but some of the domes are broken, after one year, which is a bit crap. Its going back to the shop this week.

I've just been through this with my sister, I have the sport which I love (and have used heaps in toddler/toddler mode without any problems) but I talked her into getting the Dash, the covers zip onto the Dash now
The new version of the sport (explorer) seems to be alot more user friendly now, the brake is on the handle etc but I have heard that the explorer is 2 kg heavier (12kg) than the Dash and sport (10kg)??

the explorer plus dbls kit plus dbl rain and sun cover is $1079 here. the exchange rate possibly makes it cheaper here once you add on the extras. ill have a look round though and do some virtual shopping on aussie sites

How long until you go monikah? Just wondering if it is worth you getting an umbrella stroller for the last couple of weeks while here, and then waiting to get a phil and ted in OZ as my understanding of your situation your DH is going over for work. Also you could put yours on trade me just before you go and if it doesn't sell is there anyone here that can take over the auction for you?
You might find it easier having both boys with you to have an umbrella stroller as they fold smaller while travelling anyway?

my oldest can walk and i have a wrap too. i quite often carry them and at this stage we still have a car. the new ones come into baby city mid oct so if i put mine on TM just as the new ones come in hopefully ill fob it off just before i fly out or leave it here since my cousin is renting my place and can organise pick up. because im travelling alone wtih 2 kids i have to take one carseat on the plane so i thought id just check in the pram and other car seat to make my life easier at the departure lounge and stuff. we wont have a car over there so getting one here ensures ill have it when i get to aussie at opposed to walking and carrying kids 5km to the mall on my own or finding my way round shops. delivary might take a while so that will trip me up too. i think im just gonna buy here cos its one thing off my list of things to do that gets bigger by the day
