Hi all,
I'm considering getting a nappy bag...looking at the Babymel Amanda. Has anyone got this bag? What do you think of it? In general, did you use your nappy bag or would any handbag do? All the bags specifically made for nappy bags seem to be very expensive. Any feedback would be appreciated! TIA. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

| An oversized hand bag is more than adequate, I've had an oi oi bag and it was a waste of money IMO. A hand bag does the same thing |

Yup any bag will do and if it's the insulated pockets you're after, you can get insulated bags/pouches from any baby store! I am after a back pack one atm. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I have a nappy bag and used it a lot but now I just use and oversized handbag someone gave me, it has more room

You can actually get a kind of insert thing, that you pop into any bag you already have and it can seperate bottles etc. ------------- Mummy to Issy (3) and Elias (18 months) I did it .. 41 kgs gone! From flab to fab in under a year  http://www.femininefitness.co.nz/category/blog - LFs weight blog

I've got that one (the older model) and it's great. I used it all the time when Dan was little. Now I just use a handbag but that's cos I barely have to carry anything. I'll use the babymel one again once this one's out ------------- Mum to two wee boys |

I bought a cheap nappy back pack from Farmers and it has been one of my most used things. Even now my Daughter is 3 years old, I still find it handy for the two insulated side pockets (for a drink and snacks) and the main bag for a change of clothes, etc. Easy to carry around in backpack format too. DP brought me a new oversized handbag that i love, it has been so good, plenty of room for all my stuff plus nappies wipes and changes of clothes, we did have a nappy bag that we got with a voucher for baby shower, but its only been used a handful of times, its now turned into T's overnight bag for the handful of times we've been away with T, but completely up to you - if you have a large bag that you would wanna use then id just use that, if you wanna get a special bag for baby then either way it'll do the trick  ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I use a macpac backpack, its great! Not too big, and easy to throw on your back when carrying a baby round 
Also it's great cos DH will carry it if needed. It fits nicely in the package tray under the buggy, and if I end up getting a few things in there (say if I go to the supermarket) or something I can throw it on my back, or extend the shoulder straps and dangle it over the handle
I love it! |

I was given a nappy bag when DS was born and loved it the first month or so it had an insulated bottle bit where I kept a water for BFing but now I just chuck a few things in my handbag UNLESS we're going to be out all day/night.
BUT I use my old school bag when I have him in the moby
So my answer is proberly not but they can be handy |

| i have an oioi satchal type one .. fits perfect over my pram handles etc. babys on 10 days old so only atucally used it 3 times! but seems pretty handy im sure an bag would do the trick tho ... i no longer use my handbag(s!!!) just chuck everything in there much easier. also have a kathmandu one we broguht for dp to use don't know if he will or not. |

We had a really expsensive bag for ds (it was dh's idea  ) and it was amazing. There were seperate areas for lots of things so I always new were stuff was (keys and wallet in one pouch, nappy bags and sanitiser in another, wipes in one are, nappies in another, etc etc). The bag got a big hammering!
Now I just use an over sized shoulder bag, but I will consider making myself a nappy bag with seperate compartments in a few weeks time ( I think). Not a necessity but it did save my sanity at times (especially as at times at the moment I have to DUMP everything out of my bag to find keys etc) ------------- http://lilypie.com">
