Ok, I have been reading through the posts and I haven't seen a thread where we list things to do specifically for the men. I know that zinc supplements are suggested, but what else should I think about before ttc?

Anything anyone else has done? DIet/exercise/supplents...?

Things I have heard of are no smoking and to wear boxer or go commando. Exercise and diet, well they say thats always important but dont know of any specific foods that are suppose to help sorry. Oh and dont have sex every day cos it uses up all the good stuff

My doctor suggested trying every second day from day 8 of my cycle through till day 21 and we got pregnant that month. I would also suggest a multi vitamin for the partner too plus eating healthy and regular exercise.

Yup every second day was what we were told also...takes a while for the boys to regenerate...

Also I banned hubby from keeping his cell phone in his pocket!

Might be an old wives tale but I heard garlic is very good for making men more... potent.
Looking back, we were eating a lot of garlic mushrooms around the time we got our 'surprise' with Ella, so maybe there's something to it?

zinc AND selenium (which we all should be taking as it is an anticancer antioxidant and NZ soils are deficient). From what I have read it doesnt matter if you have sex every day as it isnt supposed to make a significant difference to the sperm count... but then you read other stuff that says it does.

I made my DH wear boxers the month prior to us conceiving rather than the tighties he was wearing usually - and it worked so i swear by that!
Also I had a cold / flu the month we conceived and was on day and night and cough medicine - now the old robitussin may be a wifes tale but i have to say that month we put all to use (by accident) and it worked! Friends also just had their bubs and were both real sick and using cough medicine when she conceived too!
Also made sure we BDed whenever we wanted but def two to three days before O and day or so after....( we were using Fertility friend charting) ...he then left me for about five days to travel OE and when he came back we were preggy!
Who knows if it will work for everyone but......
