Hi all,
I'm doing some research for my wife - she's 36 weeks pregnant and has started noticing stretch marks. She's been using bio oil so far. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a treatment or product that really helped with their stretch marks that I can get for her? I've seen something advertised on the net - Trilastin-SR - has anyone used this cream? does it work? If there's a treatment that is avaiable through beauty thereapy places that can help as well i'd love to hear about it so I can perhaps get her some vouchers or prepay some sessions for her. thanks! |

There was a thread a while back about stretch marks and I think someone said that some people are prone to stretch marks and no matter what you do you will get them anyway, not sure how accurate that it. Maybe try searching for it, it's probably in the pregnancy section ------------- Lindsey

Anything with vitamin E or cocoa butter is good if you are wanting something a little more natural. I know a lot of people rate Bio-oil but I wasnt keen on using something containing petroleum derived ingrediants. I recommend Palmers Cocoa Butter it smells divine and works well.
Whether you get stretch marks or not is largely genetic, if her mum got them chances are she will to. Oils and creams etc can minimize their appearance but they won't stop them occurring. ------------- http://lilypie.com" rel="nofollow">   [/url] Angel June 2012 |

You can use rosehip oil as an alternative to bio-oil.
I used cocoa butter the first time around every day & I still go a couple of stretch marks towards the end once my belly started dropping. I don't think there is much you can do to avoid them. | Im using the clairns stretch mark cream and welda pregnancy oil and they are the best I have found. I have tried bio oil and derma oil too but they didnt seem as to give as much moisturisation as the welda. I use the clairns in the am (its not as oily or icky as others) and the welda pregnancy oil (which is really thick and soaks in well over night) at night. Be aware that a lot of the creams you get over the net and through caci clinic etc cant be used until after the baby is out. |

I don't think any of the creams really make any difference. But I'll tell you the best thing you can do, better than any voucher: tell her she's beautiful. Because you're a man, it'll mean 20x more than any woman saying it. And because you're HER man, it'll mean 20x more again. Honest! -------------  |

I agree with Busy Mum! But also, I used Earth Mama Angel Baby Natural Stretch Oil when I was pregnant, and I didn't get any stretch marks! Could be a co-incidence - as the others said, I might not have got them anyway, but its a beautiful organic product that was lovely to use to keep my preggy skin hydrated anyway. |

I think if you are going to get them nothing really si going to work in my experience. I used stuff all during pregnancy and wasn't until third trimester that I got some and then got quite a few under my belly button unfortunately. ------------- http://lilypie.com">  http://lilypie.com">
