DD (18 months) has all of a sudden come out with red bruises under her eyes, one of them is worse than the other.
Yesterday she got a sudden onset fever accompanied by the chills (she was shivering). She has a low grade temp today and is a bit grouchy. I'm more worried about the bruising as it is something we have never dealt with before.
Any suggestions? I Dr googled it but most pages dealt with allergies and she hasn't eaten anything new in the last 36 hours.

If you are not sure I would just take her to the doctor, just in case!

I'd just watch for any changes tomorrow and get a medical check if you're still worried then. I would have thought it had something to do with her colouring with the high temp and will settle soon.

Allergic shiners are not usually redish. They are more blackish, like some ones really tired. Usually also very even on both eyes.

Thanks for that AandC, the bruising faded after a couple of days along with the temp etc. so I figured it was some weird short illness. Now she is back to her usual toddler antics.
