Ok so SIL friend is pregnant, she is the first of the group to get pregnant and is also going to be a single mum.

I was thinking that we could put together a care pack for when she is pregnant I think she's about 20 weeks and then also do a care pack for after babies here.

So I was thinking for preg pack

antacid
pads/panty liners
bio oil
body lotion
bubble bath

Thats about all I can think off

For after babies here I was thinking

Ural
pads
choc
fruit basket
magazines
old fashioned cloth nappies
bibs

Baby will be a summer baby and she will be staying at her mums so at least she won't have the mum guilts of wanting to have a nap but feeling like she cant because the washing won't get hung out, dishes done etc

I've told her to txt/call/facebook me if she needs anything as I'm at home with DD anyway and while most of them will be at work over summer I can always go round to hang out and help her.

Any more ideas on the lists. I did try to do a search but it kept coming back with an error

in the preg pack:
nappies for bubs - if she will be using disposables - not quite for her but theyre not cheap and bubs uses alot
for her:
a massage as she gets bigger - bound to get sore and can never reach it yourself
a voucher to get her hair done - so she can look pretty in her birth photos

Maybe once she's had the baby some precooked meals - last thing she will be wanting to do is run around cooking if baby's having a bad day.

I went to one of those manicure places in the mall when I was about 40 weeks pregnant and got a pedicure and they did a bit of a leg massage too was great.

What about nipple cream? That's a nice handy thing to have.
Pawpaw cream for baby? Or what about the little medical things like bath themometer, regular one, clippers, medicine dispenser etc.... depends how much you want to spend

I had a preggie massage which included legs and fet - was wonderful because I had so much fluid retention!... Think we all went there at some point, do ya remember the name of it Chelle? Name escapes me... Bella Mama? Not sure.

I spoke to SIL and she's going to talk to the girls about putting in for it. There's a few of them so I should imagine that $20 from each will get us at least a hundred or so.

Oh, I got a pedicure towards the end and it was the BEST thing! especially the foot/leg massage bit!

Food for the freezer is great. I had lots of frozen muffins to quickly defrost. Also for after baby - wipes and cloth face wash/flannels. I also use loads of almond oil (cheap from the chemist) for baby massag/dry skin. And ditto all the other things chelle said!

oh, and the BEST thing friends did for me was drop off dinner. They just popped in said "hi, here is your dinner - bye!" It was so lovely and something I want to do for all the new mums I know :)

Oh, oh......my sister made a little notebook for me with some ruled sections for keeping track of feed/nappy situation in the first few weeks (cause it was my first baby and I was feeling pretty clueless and unsure of myself)
It had time spent feeding/which side I fed off/ and a tick box for wetnappy/dirty nappy and I added a coloum for how long he slept.
Really helped me keep track and also start to look for patterns etc a few weeks in.

Practical stuff is always good - nappies, wipes, cotton wool, baby toiletries, nice body wash/lotion/hand cream for mum.

http://www.glorialemay.com/blog/?p=34 - This list has some good ideas too.
