We have a small 3bdrm house.
We have our room which only fits bed & bedside cabinets, also double wardrobe.
Our spare room has all our draws & computer etc, its like our study. The wardrobe in there is used for linen cupboard because ours is too small
But our problem is we have no good storage. Our spare room has clothes everywhere so does our bedroom because we cant fit them anywhere. This is after i have recently given heaps away.
What do you use for storage? I was thinking of getting a wardrobe organizer but they are $200+ so im still unsure. What else could i use?

in the spare room you could get a wardrobe kit from mitre 10 mega/bunnings, like a free standing ward robe/cupbpard to put the extra stuff into.
or put up some shelves/get a book case and get some plastic storage box things and store stuff in the garage.
we find having under bed storage boxes fantastic as we have a slat bed, i put my summer clothes under bed and it solved the issue of too many clothes not enough draws/wardrobe space.
and i also have a small book case from the warehouse that was 2 for 20 with 3 cubby areas in it, to store shoes nicely, and it tidy's up the wardrobe as it leaves more room for storage for my course notes and box of medical/bathroom stuff (creams, lotions, band aids, hair sprays, shampoos etc that done get used often enough)

Second the wardrobe kit.
Our house has no wardrobes!! We bought a few kits off trade me and it has helped alot.
They are like a wardrobe, and only cost about $40-$50 each.

We bought some of those vacuum packs and we store winter clothes in summer and summer clothes in winter out in the garage. I'm a minimalist, so every now and then I have a clear out - anything that we haven't used in the last 6months to a year gets chucked
We use those white clip up storage boxes from the warehouse too. They get put in the garage and we put the vacuum packs in there.

another random thought is what about those vacuum seal bags that you put stuff in an suck the air out of...
they would minimise the clothes and things like blankets to take up less space.
and if its office stuff i love those desk shelf organiser thingys for filing papers into like bills and mail to keep the desk top tidy.
and filing cabinets are great. ours is a 3 draw one, and we only use 1 draw to file stuff and use the other 2 to hide my sewing stuff, and to store text books in

The wardrobe kits...are they like an actual wardrobe with doors and everything?? sounds good if so.
I second the cheapo bookcases from warehouse too, they can also stack on each other or on a desk, and you can store books in them or get some baskets to put junk in.

The wardrobes are a good idea but sadly we dont have room for them.
The vacuum bags is something i have thought of before but they are pretty expensive i think. i might have to buy storage containers for under the bed.
Those bookshelves are a good idea for shoes too.

We have the same problem! When I win Lotto I want a house with so much storage I won't know what to do with it LOL A walk in wardrobe, cupboards and closets galore, built in everything... drool hehe
I think the best solution is to get rid of as much stuff you don't use as you can, store anything you rarely use in garage, under the house or even in a shed (I totally fail at this, I don't know where all the crap comes from!)
Like someone else suggested underbed storage is useful, those cheap shelves from warehouse are awesome we have heaps, stack them, turn them sideways even use them in the wardrobe!
Do you know anyone handy who could add some organizer type things to your closet? Some of those storage things can be really expensive for what you get... a bit of metal or plastic!
Hmm I love baskets, chests are good for storing linen and can double as a table, add hooks to backs of doors
Hope there are some ideas there that help

The annoying thing is our garage, under the house, in the roof is all stored with DPs crap. im not allowed anything else in the garage because he cant work in there lol.
So i pretty much have 1 double wardrobe (which has heaps of clothes hanging lol) and under our bed. Dam i wish i was allowed to get a Laptop then we could get rid of this huge com table & computer

I have these material cubby holes if that makes sense... From TWH. They have about 5 cubbies and I store jeans in one, tshirts in another... etc. I can fit 3 in my single wardrobe so there is 15 holes that holds all my clothes, DP has a tall boy and I also have my dressing table. I used to store stuff under the bed but we got a new bed which now means we can't.
I got those 2 for $20 bookcases at the warehouse also and use them for Lily's clothes. She has so much clothes it's not funny.
I also got rid of any clothes I no longer wear etc and will never wear again or that don't fit, including shoes.
But the cubbies I mentioned above, you need to have a bar going across the top if that makes sense, also let me know if you want a pic.

We have always had issues with storage.
Our first home was a one bedroom 8 x 3 metre box with 4 of us living it. It was definately a squeeze. We had no cupboards and only a couple of walls we could put any storage against. We had to make sure we used every spare cm we could and built our own shelves floor to ceiling and stacked them with flax basket type things.
Even though we had to be really ruthless with the stuff we kept, when we moved out it was amazing how much stuff we managed to fit inside.
Since then we have moved to a slightly bigger place which still has no storage. We ended up rebuilding the floor to ceiling shelves to our bedroom.

We have a lack of storage too- 3bd house & there are 6 soon to be 7 of us. We got the 9cube cubby shelves from warehouse stationery & stacked them two high (secured to wall) so they are floor to almost ceiling, then bought plastic storage cubes from warehouse to put in them. They hold an amazing amount of stuff- clothes, toys, linen, junk etc. We've sold all our drawers & just have two sets of floor to ceiling cubes in each bedroom. & there's still room for shoeboxes etc on top of them.
