Hi all, I have a 7 month old baby who is still breast feed, was taking the mini pill all this time but experienced heaps of breakthrough bleeding, my doc has now put me onto monofeme (suppose to take first pill today).
Im not sure if I should take it or not, my doc seems to be so blazae about things and not sure I trust her so much. Has anyone else taken monofeme while breastfeeding or any other normal contraception pill? ------------- http://lilypie.com">  http://lilypie.com">

You can ring the healthline and ask about this. I am pretty sure they will either be able to put your mind at rest or say no don't take :-)

Thanks for that.. I did call them last night and they told me they couldn't really give me an answer, although they didn't tell me I can't take it. They said to go talk to my doctor again.

You could try getting in touch with La Leche. They would have a good idea of what you can and can't take (contraceptive wise anyway). ------------- http://lilypie.com">  http://lilypie.com">

There should be a flier in with the pills, read that and see if it says anything. Also try ringing the manufacturer of the pill, they should definately be able to tell you. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

Momofeme is a combined pill (estrogen and progestone) so probably should be avoided during breastfeeding. It will dry up your supply. ------------- Our Angel July 08 Gone but not forgotten
