We have a portable gas heater and so far I've managed to contain DS to the lounge with his rolling but this morning found him right next to the gas heater patting it!!!

Just wondered what type of fireguard would work? We were going to go down to the Warehouse and buy one that would fit around it and attach it to the wall somehow but wondered if it would heat up really hot if it's metal? We don't want to pay hundreds for something. What have others done?

Funny, i have one of those metal pet play pen things that I fold in half and surround our gas heater / fireplace in. It does get hot - it's metal and that's just part of life, but Thomas knows that it's hot and doesnt touch it ever since the fire door incident where he had to touch it because he didnt believe me. I've attached it to the wall with a couple of small screw in hooks.

We have 2, one that is like a play pen round the whole thing, and the other one is a like fire guard around 3 sides. It gets hot and agree with Alex, it's just part of life, it's metal... Although the one like a play pen has bigger gaps and doesn't get hot like the other one does which looks more like a fly screen door iygwim!

You can get guards specifically for portable gas heaters, I think I've seen them at the warehouse or mitre10 or something.

My MIL has a fireguard for her gas heater, its metal, but it doesn't get hot, warm yes, but not hot. I think its coated in something heat resistant?
