If your child has had it, have you managed to pin point what food causes it?
DD1 had it from 4 months until 3 years. Now she is the opposite and everything is totally runny (probably not good either).
DD2 now has it and spends hours trying to poo and if it does come out, it is hard and causes a bit of bleeding.
My doc just says some kids have lazy bowels but I am more inclined to think it is something they are intolerant to (something that passes through breastmilk as Elle had issues when she was still exclusively breastfed).
DD2 is pretty much refusing all solid food and barely napping (20mins is all she's had today and she isn't even 11 months yet!) and I can't help but wonder if her tummy is sore.

Mack used to be blocked up all the time cos he was on thickened formula. his diet is primarily fruit and veggies with a wee bit of meat, bread etc.. depending on which meal it is. he used to always sleep badly and get a sore tummy when he as blocked up though so its totally possible that your DD is doing the same thing. if you havent tried increasing her water intake that can be pretty good and pack lots of fruit and veggies when she decides to start eating again :S dont know if it will help but it worked with Mack

I've just stopped using the thickened formula too for the same reason, first night on the new formula he slept through and we thought OMG we've solved the sleep issues. Sadly it was a coincidence Banana also seems to block him up, but I hear that's a common one.

I haven't ID'd a food that causes it, but I find Pumpkin gets him going again.
Mac has more of an issue where he won't poo for 2-3 days then come day 4 all he does is poo. I'd really like to find a way to make him more "regular" cause he gets a sore tummy com day 2 or 3
