Hi

Our baby was born by venthouse delivery, and we were recommended to take him to see a Cranial Osteopath - has anyone used one in the Auckland area, that they can recommend?

Also any indication of price?

Thanks!

If you're on the NS I can recommend Jill Headifen. She has clinics in Milford and Torbay. i found her a big help and she didn't push for lots of appointments, like some do!

I used the cranial osteopath at the Ellerslie clinic (can't remember his name!), the one across from Cafe Trends. Didn't do much for my wee man as it turns out he didn't have too much wrong with him, but I found him very straight up and didn't try to tell me he needed 10 appointments which I thought was good!

I took my DD to Martin Lambert at Hakanoa Health in Mt Eden. It was $70 for a hour session and he was wonderful with her. She only needed two appointments in the end.

no

its the 'in' thing to take them now.......they said to me its the normal delivery that is harder (for some reason) my =SIL took hers to the chiro once and that is all he needed.......ostepath is suppose to have allign bones in skull.........most cases it does it themselves....ty was sever and had back of 30 yr old..he use to have ear infections and throat infections...also had major temper issues and didnt sleep....head banging gone temper easing....infection ok but he has had surgery....still gets sever growing pains but they are working on that.........i was gonna take mia just as a lets see....as she has ear infections........some people dont think it works but i dont want to stop with ty...he still doesnt sleep...bumma

I went to Papakura Osteopath and we needed 3 treatments. My little man had problems with nerves in his neck that went to his tummy? and had really bad wind and was generally unsettled.

My mum went to the one in Ellerslie and said it was really good.

Thanks for the replies...

My mw recommended that we take him to see one cause he was posterior (in distress) and they had to turn him and with the venthouse too.

I don't want to see someone that is going to tell me I need to keep taking DS back when I don't need to.  He seems ok to me, is feeding and sleeping well (just had MW around and he has put on 200 grams in 3 days!).

well if you think he is doing well then why take him? ! both of my kids had trumatic births but i didnt start taking ty till 2.5yrs...its diffently a vogue thing to do now tho

to me its soooo much money if your happy with wat your son is doing...if he is happy then leave alone...one treatment with ty sent me batty the next day...it had hit a nerve and i cried for hours i had to phone someone to take him cause i couldnt handle it........he came right the next day.....
