It's $4 an hour at TSB but 3 or more hours is $10... I think.

I know a car park up by baby factory that is usually always empty and is $4 for 12 hours... but then it's quite a walk there and back...

I'm going with my mum and dd. She surprised me with tickets!

Featherston street parking should be free on Saturday and Sunday, but is often hard to get a park there on the weekends and even harder when there is something on

Street parking is free on weekends. Another option is to park Oriental Bay end and walk along the waterfront.

No idea if I'm going, didn't realise it was on. Could be tempted to take the girls to the WotWots though

I will meet you all there Renee, but I am pretty sure there is a couple of stand my mum wants to go to, she had no idea about it and is now rather excited!

I'm pretty sure we'll cross paths a few times!

There are quite a few carparks around, as far as I know the Wilsons Carpark opposite Kirks which has all the GenI carparks is only reserved on weekdays but the higher up you go the more parks there are usually and the more non reserved.

Also there is a carpark off Stout St near the Toy World.

I so hope it doesn't rain

I've been a couple of times. You can pay for tickets by eftpos and many stands will have eftpos or at least Visa facilities. I think I used a little cash paying for drinks or something. It depends who is there and the specific products that they are promoting - if you are close to buying some big/ costly things it might be worth waiting until after checking out the show. I bought my breastpump from there and got a free steriliser and a couple of other things

I'm debating whether or not to go....I still feel as though it is a bit of a rip off to have to pay to get in to a forum where you are being advertised to....

It can take quite awhile to get around - there will be heaps of prams and it can get quite jammed!

hmmm not really big things but a breastpump might be one biggish thing, im thinking more MCN and stuff, theyd need to be good deals tho.
might take $10 note for drinks etc, im a person who need to sip when on my feet that long, bad back pain im not looking forward too.

is it worth it for a grandparent???

can you not buy tickets online anymore??

Its only $10 and you certainly get enough freebies to cover it. I've found I go round all the stalls first then go back to the ones I want to buy from later - also saves having to carry to much stuff.
I'm planning to be there 3 hours by the time I've seen everything and waited for the shows etc. May take a packed lunch to avoid the greesy chips and save $$.

There are ATMs at the entrance to TSB arena you won't need to get cash out before you go.
Except maybe a little for parking.. if you park at the stadium.

Becks, is that Emma from our team you're coming to see, or another Emma? Because if it's our Emma -- who is no longer "our" Emma, as she's moved to Sydney and has a great new job, she unfortunately won't be at the show with us as her new job has taken precedence! I'm sure she misses her forum friends though!

OK thanks for that Katherine, last time I spoke to her she was coming over for it still. But things have changed now with the new job. I still have my sister to see and shopping to do. Now wondering if it will be worth going to the show at all now.

I went this morning. Found it ok, but when I went it was really busy and heaps of people at the stands, so didn't get that many freebies as there were too many people standing around trying to get their freebies. It seemed to me that more of the pregnant women were openly offered freebies. Only people who seemed interested in us were like, Insurance people, Playcentre people and one of the most expensive photographers. Only freebies we got were some wipes, some balloons and lots of pamplets. Silly Billyz had a good deal on bibs though, 2 for $15 and there were lots of good specials. We paid $10 for parking which is for 3+ hours at the parking building attached to TSB Arena. Most stands had eftpos, except the liquorice stand and cafeteria had eftpos. Parking building takes cash and credit.

I just had to enter a comp for tommee tippiee (sp?), umm Avent have up to 50% off but if you are looking at an electric put you'll still be paying at least $200. But their reusable breast pads were 50% off so only $13 for 6 pads. Umm... I found some people at the stalls didn't seem that interested in telling you about their products which was rather disappointing.

The freebie from OB for subscribing is a voucher for $200 off Jo Frances Photography but I just heard from someone it's $150 for the cheapest sitting and $150 for 1 print...

I got a heap of pamphlets, Playcentre/Space didn't know if their was a charge or not... WTF?!

The breastfeeding NZ are FAB esp if you have a question! She helped me out today re poos

Food and drinks is expensive there... $3.50 for juice/tea/coffee and $4.50 for any other drink.

I couldn't find a play to change Lily's nappy and was rather annoyed that the event people around with TSB shirts didn't know either one old lady told me she forgot and as you can't go and come back I had to walk around with a baby in a dirty nappy.

What else can I think of... Mocka had some good deals as did a lot of other places. Baby Bjorn didn't which kinda bummed me out a tad.

A lot of the insurance/banks etc were more approaching those with kids than those pregnant... But I got approached by most... Even saw Sonia (sp?) Gray (sp?) there with her twins who are v cute, she came up to me and said hi which was nice

Oh if you enter the $12000 towards education comp you get a free placemat which is quite cool! Although it is just paper that has been laminated. (But it's got alphabet, space and nz on it).

Can't think of anything else...

Oh that was the other thing that annoyed me, I wanted to see a show but the lady (same one who didn't know where the parents room was) took me on a tour around past all the stalls but didn't know where the seminar room was...

Um Magnets mainly, but the tommee tippee was the bath temp thingy, uhh treasures gave you a free mag of your choice from taste or the latest treasures, balloon from cigna... (yay), placemats from ASG, that's all I can remember... Oh tissues from a photographer... Freebies weren't that great imo but the TT one was I think.

A lot of things were if you bought something or signed up and subscribed etc you got better 'freebies'

We got quite a few freebies, and everyone was interested in talking to Taylah.

I got Oh baby mag, treasures mag, taste mag. Placemat, heaps of magnets, got one done with a photo of Taylah. notepads, pens.

Taylah also got 2 Wot Wots books for $10, she hasnt put them down all arvo.

I went with my sister and she got stuff to as she is a nanny. I subscribed to Treasures again for the goodie bag - wow that was impressive, even my sister was looking at it. Oh Baby subscription goodie bag wasn't that flash IMO. If you want my opinion on it I am happy to give my honest feedback. Also being told that I had to fill in a form to get the mag for the auditors wasn't that nice.

I have to say that compared to 6 years ago when I went for the first time, I didn't get nearly as many samples etc. Gone are the days of Watties, Golden Circle and all the formula companies giving their product away rather than charging for the sample.

DH was disappointed there wasn't much there for Dads I guess he was hoping they'd be gadgets of some kind.

Show was ok - a lot of stands selling the same stuff though - photographers and financial advise neither really relevant to us.

I preferred the Kids Fair to P&C. Lots more fun and things to do and activities for the kids.

We got a placemat which was cool and the bath thermometer thingy.

Was good to see the LLL people and we did buy a highchair from Mocka, but they are having the same deals on their website so didn't make it worth the trip down anyway. I didn't feel there were any good deals there that you couldn't get online or at stores anyway.

I definately won't be going back. We were in and out within an hour and a half and I stopped to feed and change DS. Wish I had of seen the timetable for the seminars before we went down as we missed any of the talks we would have been interested in.

Yes, there was a few good stalls, but overshadowed by the crap stalls.

I saw some people walking around with 'Parent and Child Show' bags that had stuff in them, but maybe they ran out or something?

The Parent and Child Show bags were for sale where you bought your tickets ($3). They came empty though, so what people had in them was collected from the stalls

Ah thanks for that! Makes sense, I got my tickets online so didn't have to go up to the counter!
