What's the brand name??

I have to cut cheese from my diet because DD (bf baby) doesn't agree with it when ever I eat it!

And cheese happens to be in almost everything I like...

So I am wanting to try dairy free cheese but don't know where to get it or the brand!!

Any advice is appreciated...

Oh and does it taste like normal cheese?

I've got a friend who tried soy cheese. She said it was horrible. I never tried it myself so I dont really know.

Apart from the soy cheese (dont know the brand or where she got it from) I cant think of any other types of dairy free cheeses out there.

Good Luck

There's a brand called Cheezly- available in health stores and from the crueltyfree shop via http://www.safe.org.nz - www.safe.org.nz . It's about $11 and available in cheddder and mozzarella. I used it a lot when I was vegan and it was YUM. The soy cheese in the long oval yellowy packet not so great lol.  They are a bit pricey but because of that I found I used less and the mozzarella def melts like the real stuff so goes quite a long way.

If it's dairy only you're sensitive to then maybe try goat or sheep cheese as well?

If you want to make a cheesy sauce for something like macaroni cheese, just add in one teaspoon of salt, & use rice milk, great replacement, I don't think I would have survived dairy free without that recipe.

ooohhh yeah I forgot about sauces...the other very cheesy tasing thing is savoury yeast... a tablespoon or tow of that in a white sauce makes a lovely 'cheesy' topping for pizza and macaroni etc  plus its really high in B vitamins

It's flaked yeast or if you want you can try brewers yeast but thats finer.  Seriuosly, it's really good- when I was vegan I ate lots of it in sauces cos it blends in and we still have it sometiems as a 'sauce' instead of cheese for pizza toppings or macaroni 'cheese'. We're vegetarian (not vegan now)- well DF isn't lol only by default - but its nice to cut back on the old dairy sometimes...partly cos I really don't think too much dairy is that great for us  and also cos the cheese we buy is UBER expensive and savoury yeast is cheap as and lasts forever lol
