Ok, so I know there have been past debates, or at least differing opinions on various topics relating to breastfeeding such as extended feeding etc etc.. but what about this.. What do you think of a human breastfeeding an animal?

I don't mean just giving them the milk to drink either.. I mean, allowing them to feed from your boobs!!

My opinion..When I saw this article I was totally grossed out.. (I assume it's real based on the photo..but that's not to say it's not some sort of joke) definitely not something that would cross my mind to do. Ever... I think I also recall a story on the news about a woman in NZ who did it as well too..

I get the goat also, people in those country need to do things we would not to survive.

But I think the others are a few sandwiches short of a picnic.
I am grossed out by them I think they are perverse & the thought of them having more children is a worry.

I remember reading the nz dog one ages ago, did she not have kids taken off her cause she was not all there?

I think they have crossed the lines & I hate to think where it will stop

I could almost say it was ok if it was 3 days old and an orphan animal and it was the only way. (not taking a bottle etc) But a older dog that was on food. ick. If you can't afford food then get rid of the dog. Take it to the spca so a decent home can be found for it.

By the way just finished my breakfast of eggs and now feeling a bit sick. lol.

Yes jazzy the NZ one a little while ago - she got put under psych evaluation and the dog went to the SPCA I think.

I remember that story - it crossed a line with me I didn't even know I had

LOL it is a baby deer!   I must have been tired, cause it looked like a goat last night. On further inspection though, it's clearly a deer! And it even says 'fawn' in the article..

Whoops!

Still weird to me..

lol Renee at first glance I thought it was a goat too, so easy to get mixed!! But after a second look and reading the article realised it was a deer too.

Ick gross! We dont' go to the paddock and suckle off cows do we?

I don't mind someone feeding their dog BM if they have spare, you might as well not waste it (I've given my cat spare formula before).

I can understand the deer though - a lot of people would do anything to get good cuts of venison

Um yeah I'm all for BF but dunno about giving it to an animal stright from the source!  That's a bit gross for me. But yeah leftover bm from the frisge into their bowl or something doesn't bother me cos like ppl have said, we drink cow breast milk. So no difference there.

Oh and the fawn situation is a little different from the dog situation....that woman needs councelling or another baby I reckon!

Um is it Papua New Guinea where the women BF baby pigs?

Yeah definately not something I'd do but it doesn't gross me out as such. More interests me because it's another culture or another way of life (except maybe the dog lady but seriously look at her...she's not normal anyway...poor crazy lady).

I've always tried to show an interest in different ways of life and I've always accepted that what might seem strange and "wrong" to me is perfectly normal to them and I also accept that I am sure there are things I do and our "culture" does that is strange and "wrong" to them.

That's bloody trusting, even little fluffy dogs like that have bloody good teeth on them! I'm not so much disgusted as amazed. Now that would be interesting to watch
