what are your thoughts on buying before you are even UTD???
With dd i never got anything until after 12 weeks. And when i have another baby i wont need anything. Although i couldnt resist buying these winnie the pooh bibs for $2 each, although DP does know lol.

i think the odd thing every now and then wont hurt especially if its cos its kinda cute or whatever. i never did it but i never bought anything until i was absolutely necissary cos i hate shopping. lol. i think ppl buying heaps of outfits and stuff before UTD is a bit full on but thats just my opinion and i everyone is different

we are only starting to TTC now but on our honeymoon in Thailand in February i had to buy a cute little baby outfit with Elephants on it because i thought it would be cool for our baby to be to have something from there
currently have some vouchers to get free nappies so getting a couple of packs of those but only because they are free.. it doesnt hurt to get some things but i think i will wait now till i am utd before i get anything more though i do browse trade me anyway

A very personal choice and there is no right or wrong thing to do. I waited till I was UTD before I bought my first ever baby item. I just wanted to enjoy the experience of buying my first ever baby item knowing I was pregnant

Why on earth does it matter? Each to their own. We bought a bit of stuff, particularly for Bubs nursery - it was my way of staying sane preparing for the Bubs I hoped we'd have one day.

I don't think it matters. In fact I wish we had of done it while we had 2 incomes pre-Ollie, would have made buying things much easier.
If you do feel weird about actually having baby stuff around without a baby, you could always set up a savings account to save for it.

I brought a few things before getting my BFP, I was TTC for over a year. Nothing big though - mostly onesies and cute baby clothes.
Once I got my BFP I didn't buy anything till after my 12 weeks scan.

I never bought anything till after 12 weeks, as I had problems with all & a m/c with #2 over 12weeks.
I worked in a hospital so was aware of problems & m/c & still births.
I did not buy my big items till near the end.

I bought the odd bit before we started TTC. Just an occassional outfit on special from Pumpkin Patch, and had a clothes draw before we started TTC but DH was a bit funny on that.
Once we got pregnant we were both really cautious about buying anything before the 12 week mark, and didn't even want to buy big stuff before 20 weeks.
My reasoning wtih the clothes etc before TTC was tehy could be used as gifts. I was one of those people who didn't want to jinx anything. But there are certainly benefits of stocking up on stuff.
DS is 9 months and I haven't bought nappies since he was born thanks to stockign up and mum stockign up... we only are just starting to need them now!!

i dont think it matters, i didnt with my 1st 2 only coz they were unexpected. but i did buy quite abit for ds3 while we were ttc him. and i did buy the odd thing for ds4 b4 we conceived. i bought emmetts 1st xmas top an hr b4 i got my bfp, coz there was only one left and perfect size if i was due in jan as it was for a 12mth old. and thats exactly what happened.

Hehe , one of my closest friends has bought a box full of baby clothes, a maxi cosi car seat , a quinny buggy and I think a highchair , oh and a bigger sized carseat ....problem is , not only is she not UTD, she and her partner haven't even started trying .
BUT , she is one of those girls who has wanted to be a mum since she was a little kid , and this gives her something to focus on while they wait I guess , anyway its her life and her money so she is entitled to spend it how she wants .
I just pray that when they do TTC its not a hard struggle , cos she has some gorgeous stuff !
